Reed is a big enough name that people will apply regardless. If they’re ranked number 90 instead of number 15 or whatever among LACs, they avoid getting applicants from students who are chasing a narrow definition of prestige.

Under a fair evaluation, Reed would place 36th in its USN category by one estimation: Reed's USN Rank Estimated at 54 Places Higher Under a Fair Evaluation.

Unless Reed cares about their acceptance rate. And I don’t think they really do.

However, Reed needs to take notice of its admission yield, which, at 15.3% last year, may suggest cause for concern.
