US PhD Bio/biomedical/lifesciences international interviews & acceptances fall 2011

Accepted into the IBMG program at indiana university school of medicine. My 1st acceptance.

hurmati,
did you get any mail from umass med, and congrats graddreams.

Nop. I am getting really restless with them. Emailed couple of times. It seems like they are just ignoring me.

@fallbiomed - thank you.

Does anyone know how IUPUI-IBMG program is and how the school is like?

hi hurmati,
if you havent heard from them its probably a good sign…may be your on some sort of waitlist.they sent me a mail that they will make an official decision on my app only in early april though an earlier mail said that i would be receiving an acceptance.

finally got an official acceptance letter from MCB/University of Illinois,Urbana.

UTAH MOLECULAR BIOLOGY acceptance…

@fallbiomed: Congratulations.
Are you going to accept the offer from Utah? I am still in dilemma between UMass Amherst and Utah.

@fallbiomed2011

Congrats!

thanx immunol,

hi esoteric,
i am still waiting for the official acceptance from umass med,worcester.
in my opinion both utah and umass have good faculty and seem to be publishing in high impact journals regularly…although both dont seem to be rated high enough.Frankly i wouldnt worry about that any longer as long as i am able to publish well in graduate school.
both the schools seem to have faculty working on topics that i am interested in.so its going to be a difficult decision.

i have no clue about the ambience at utah vs amherst/worcester but certainly they are both going to be very different from say nyc, besides the climate and low cost of living. also utah has apparently got 7 world class ski resorts within 30mins from the university!!!.

i personally believe umass is good because of being part of an educational hub at the east coast and i think the graduate course at umass med is very rigorous with nearly 5 rotations.

I think you need to prioritize your needs at graduate school and then decide which school to attend.goodluck.

@fallbiomed2011…Does it mean you are not considering your UIUC offer?

hi hurmati,
unlikely i will accept the uiuc offer,but not decided yet.

UT Health science center, Houston/ MD Anderson cancer center- GSBS acceptance.

hi all!

accepted to both Vanderbilt Interdesciplinary grad. program and Baylor College of Medicine, program in immunology… Which one do you think is better one? Thanx!

Finally…am done with the whole process.
