UCSF BMS program. I was interested in the cancer bio research area, in particular.
I’ve heard that, in general, the UC schools take very few internationals, so I was expecting it.

Update from me:

Harvard Immunology: I believe they’ve sent out all their interview invites already so I guess that’s a rejection unless they decide to ‘waive’ the interview for me (highly unlikely!). Final decisions in March

UCSF BMS: DENIED!

UPenn BGS Immunology: Still reviewing apps, will contact qualified candidates shortly (I asked)

Rockefeller: silence

Yale BBS Immunobiology: no clue, emailed to ask and they said that final decisions are still being made and that they’d be in touch.

MIT: I believe they’ve sent out some interview invites, not sure if they’re done though.

finally MSSM has updated my application status as complete…now I hope they start their reviews quickly.

hey alleycat393 when did you get the UCSF BMS denied status…coz mine still displays under review.

@fallbiomed2011: 11th Jan. You still have some hope then…good luck!

any checks on my post? M curious, it will be helpful if some of you can help gauge my profile. Thanks.

alleycat393 …its unlikely.I think the status to denied will change for me soon too.I checked the gradcafe results and found that they had only one wave of invites around dec18 and then only rejects last application cycle.so i guess the wave of rejects has started and may reach me inevitably.

hey lifescience…we are all in the same boat…so really cant judge your stats.you certainly have years of experience which is a positive.Im not sure about your GPA or the GRE.

Hi! my status to UCSF BMS is also showing that it is under review! I submitted my application on 3rd of december. What about you? When did u submit yours?

hi yunusjan…i think UCSF is a lost cause.Im not having much hope…I think my status should come as denied soon.Yeah I submitted on the deadline.
