@ashmaniac: 10 minutes before it turned Monday, Boston time:)

congrats zfish38…was your mail from a faculty or from the office?
I guess its time to say bye to harvard bbs for me.

Congrats zfish38!! Great news.

I’m still hopeful, but it looks bleak :p

if you don’t mind, what country are you from?

Got some Tufts Sackler immunology numbers: 109 applicants… 22 interviews… 5 spots gulp

@ashmaniac09 @Peruano

Finally my MSSM application is complete! It almost fells like a victory!
Still waiting for the answer of 9 programs though (got 2 interview invitations).

hi ash any mail from harvard bbs

fallbiomed2011: no, I’d love to receive one, though
what about you?
do you know when they will send out official emails (from the admissions office)?

may be they have already sent out…like to zfish38 for example. But i dont know if they received them from faculty or from the admissions office. The weird thing thing about all this…is how can you receive a mail in the middle of the night (10mins after it turned monday.boston time).unless some faculty is working so late there.i guess monday was a holiday for them…martin luther king day…so today should be ‘the day’ to hear officially.just as xiv21 stated.

I guess for int’l applicants like us, just try to forgo January and February or maybe March as well for application result.

Only when March and April come in, we’d start to worry about that. I’m talking about Biosciences (Molecular, Genetics, Biochemistry). Those modules are hot topics among my colleagues and definitely there will be many applicants all over the world. Only a handful of schools which we happen to apply send out invitation as equally as they do for domestic students. Otherwise, most of the schools I applied still haven’t responded yet.

I’m just wondering if those schools should also use FedEx system.

Using FedEx, we can track every activity like “items picked up”, “items checked in”, “custom clearance delay”, “custom cleared”, “on FedEx delivery car”, “items delivered”. Guess what…we’d pay for only 50 bucks. Now we paid more than that for each school, and our application status to change from “incomplete” to “complete” takes ages. Sometimes we have to follow up. I’d like to give a thought to admission coordinator to use like
“Your application is incomplete.”
“Your application is now complete.”
“Your application is on the way to admission board.”
“Your application is temporarily held up for Christmas and New Year long break.”
“Your application will be considered after we finished viewing domestic students.”
“Hold on, wait…one of the admission chair is staring your papers.”
“Yikes, he took a break, going for a cup of coffee.”

haha…that must be fun, more heart-attacking status.

ok guys, I’m just fooling around coz this waiting game is killing me, and you all too, I believe. Here’s a few facts for you to chew on for January and February.

WUSTL, will be sending out to int’l within 2 weeks.
Scripps, didn’t specify when (so wait indefinitely)
UC, Berkeley, done for me I guess. gone gone gone with the wind ~~~
UPenn, In review (I wanted to know how to read between the lines of “in review” and “under reivew” :S ), my application status is “incomplete” though all my necessary documents are mentioned “received”.
Rockefeller, I wish to tell them “Just send an email if you’re going to reject me, no need to be dramatic to mail me.”

I just wanted to let the posterity know that if you happen to read this very thread, this very post written by genome here, I tell you "go to bed regularly (I know, I know… the time difference), sleep well, forget about your application once you’re done, take vacation, enjoy other activities like imobsters, world war, cut the rope, angry birds haha) for two good months December and January instead of being a neurotic.

Well I’m going to be neurotic soon since February is coming up soon.

we’d keep rowing in the same boat!!!

hi genome…i completely second you on what you have wrote.let us REST IN PEACE.

and sorry…my earlier post should have said ‘10min before it turned monday boston time’.

Hi fallbiomed2011! Did you check your status of UCSF? Mine is still under review. Take care!

P.S. Good Luck to you all from Turkmenistan! :)

@blaak, fallbiomed;

I received an informal email from a faculty member saying that I had been recommended for acceptance, followed by the actual acceptance email from the admissions office. I am South Korean.

Also received MCB interview invitation today; seems like they’ll be having their interviews over the phone and not in person.

Did anyone here applied to UT Southwestern Medical center and heard back from them? Thanks in advance.

I also got a rejection letter from the Biology @ Princeton Neuro program yesterday
Seems like they’re done sending out interview invitations.

hey immune, i applied to utsouthwestern…Ive not heard anything from them.did you get the link to your app status page for receipt of materials.thats the only thing they mailed me after i submitted.and they managed to lose/not receive one of my transcripts and so i had to mail them another copy.Im getting sick of being an international in this process.

yunusjan…the UCSF BMS status is still under review…but i think they forgot to change it to denied.they are just being lazy to change it.

hi fallbiomed2011,
the link to the app status page is also the only thing I heard from UT Southwestern so far… but they said they will take some time…

seems like harvard bbs is almost done sending acceptances :(

hi ash…the insiders at harvard bbs(molliebatmit and xiv21) seem to suggest that.

@ fallbiomed2011
My application was completed in November (by application status page online) but they emailed me saying my application was complete only during first week of Jan. I haven’t heard anything from then since. I looked through last year thread and some people had interviews by mid-Jan. I am hoping they will soon send out the invitations. Good Luck!

ok, harvard bbs is definitely done sending acceptances… I also asked the secretary, and learned that all admitted applicants have been contacted by phone and email :(

hi immune …well i didnt receive any email saying my app was complete.i think internationals are not interviewed but accepted directly to utsw. btw could you post stats.
