congrats Immunol…

cool Immunol!!! when do you go? could it be Feb 7-8? ;)

HI ASH…ANY IDEA IF MSSM reviews apps by training area mentioned in the app.My first choice was dev and stem cell biology and study area top choice was pathobiology.

hi fallbiomed2011, I have no idea, but it could very well be possible. My first choice was pharmacology and systems biology, and the study area was cell biology. From what I heard, MSSM continues these interview sessions until mid-March, though!

i hope so.jan is ending and still no word from anywhere for me is like…‘PANNNNICCCCC’.

@genome
they emailed me about their intention to phone interview by skype. my time zone is 14h ahead of chicago so … that’s why they don’t call without first noticing me

@ ashmaniac09
Exactly! Im going there on February 7-8 too!
And in fact they seem more international friendly. I saw somewhere that 1/3 of their gradstudents are international.

@ fallbiomed2011
Did you try to email them (or call them) to see if they are still inviting? My girlfriend is in the same boat
This waiting game really sucks
Best of luck!

hey Immunol, that’s great! I look forward to meeting you there :)

GSK acceptance =)
Pleasantly surprised. Loved the program and the city.

congrats blaa2k! Got accepted too and likely joining in the Fall. Were you at GSK for interviews last week?

Hey Blaa2k, congrats!!
They seem to have an excellent program and a lot of interesting faculty! Unfortunately I got my rejection from them today (my first rejection). No problem… may be for a post-doc. hehe

congrats to all !!!
Immunol, I like your spirit. haha

@mclouis, best of luck :)

Do you guys think a phone interview can affect chances of acceptance? Is it common for international students outside the US to visit so they can interview? I am half the globe away from the US, so I can’t really attend the interviews…

Hi everyone,
I am a very proud mother of a great kid who is in the process of interviewing for PHD programs in the sciences. After his interview, how long does it usually take for a school to get back to him? Thanks.

hi immunol,what was the date your mssm app showed ‘complete’.according to kurplunck who had a interview there on jan10…they review on a rolling basis and not according to track.my app was submitted on 22dec and complete only on 12th.what about yours?

@HB1986: Yup, I was at the interviews. You’re starting in the Fall? I though it started in July/August.

@Immuno: Thanks! Mount Sinai looks amazing!

I just got the interview invitation from Weill Cornell. Previously, I was informed that they found my application interesting but since my GRE official scores were missing, I need to resend them. Interview dates are Feb 16-18.

@blaa2k - er by fall I meant july. Lol. Oops! See you at the second visit in March?

Hi fallbiomed2011,

My application was submitted in December but it was only complete on January 17. I don’t really know that’s their invitation criteria, though… Looking at the bright side, Kurplunck also said there are still other recruitment dates.

Best of luck!
