are ANY post offices open on Jan. 1?
I live in NY…would the central post office in Manhattan - very important building - be closed as well?
<p>I think Jan 1 is an official closing for all offices. Even Dec 31 is an early closing at 5 pm for my post office.</p>

<p>Yes on holidays. I repeat - there are some post offices that are open 24/7. For instance, in Houston the airport post office is open 24/7. Check with your post office to find out if there are any 24/7 facilities in your area.</p>
