Because of a heavy workload lately, I only just looked at the US Presidential Scholarship application that's due in two weeks. It's a lot of work and writing that frankly I would rather not do, and I feel like I don't have a chance anyway (which feeds my desire to not do it). I haven't done anything spectacular like the winners seem to have done, so I'm wondering if it's worth my time. I'm in 5 clubs, in charge of 4 of them, 300 service hours with several local charities, great AP and IB test scores etc., and my school official stuff would be good, but I feel like I wouldn't even come close to having a chance. Can someone offer some advice? I would be willing to do it if I had a legitimate chance at winning (beyond the old 'everyone has a chance!' optimism), but I just don't think I do. Thoughts?

This program rewards 141 students in the whole of America. There’s no monetary award, but the chance to be recognized by the President is awesome! If you don’t care, then don’t do it. If you think it will haunt you 20 years from now about the whole “what if”, then try. But it sounds like you have your hands full, so I say don’t do it.

Thanks for the advice!
