Hi all-

I am just finishing up my first year at a US service academy. I haven't been too thrilled with the year and am contemplating transferring. I was accepted to U of I when I applied last year out of high school. However, my GPA here is a little less than ideal (2.0). Any thoughts on my chances of being accepted as a transfer student for either Spring or Fall of 2009?

Thanks is advance!

don’t u have to pay back the government for all the years u’ve been there? monetary wise?

I’m a she, by the way!

But no, you only have to pay the government back with money or service after you begin your junior year at the Academy.

kristinaaa-
please tough it out for your youngster year. you will find the atmosphere different and you’ll have more time to devote to academics. if you don’t feel good about it after that, then decide about a transfer.

Well, depends on the program you are applying to and how many spots they have open in the program.
