US student wanting to study in the UK? Help me choose unis?

Hey, i'm planning to go across the pond for university because i have always been an anglophile and i really badly want to have the experience of living and studying there.

Over here i consider myself a decent student and many people would say i am a rough match would the following: UC Berkeley, Dartmouth, Cornell, UPenn, Columbia, Brown, UChicago etc.

I'm planning to major in Physics and have looked at the rankings for UK unis. However, i know rankings can often be very misleading and in some cases be downright wrong.

I was wondering if anyone here could recommend me some good UK unis for Physics which are roughly on par with my US "match" unis

Also i was wondering if going to a UK uni would hurt my chances of getting a job if i decide to return to the states?

Cambridge
Oxford
St Andrews

^^^ St Andrews is a great university, but it isn’t great for physics.

OP, I’d recommend Cambridge or Oxford if you’ve got what it takes to get into one of them. And, Imperial, Durham, Warwick and Edinburgh would all be great for physics too.
