Us->uk

i think LSE offers actuarial science too, but its extremely competitive

i would not suggest city even if hes really interested in AS....i tink prestige matters in this field, and a degree from city isnt one with too much repute (the quality of city's education is highly dubious)....it would be better to do a maths then proceed onto a more prestigious grad school in the US to do AS

he did apply to LSE but was rejected...but is City that bad? I though they had the 3rd higest ranked business school

well i'm not sure bout its repute in the uk....but i'm pretty sure most ppl outside uk haven heard of it (i had to wiki it when you first told me)

Manchester and a few others do maths with actuarial science, if that is the bag you are into (what is City? Sounds like a former poly?)

hmmm well i personally think that if ur unsure abt what to do then go straight off to the US as u get 2 years to decide what to do...whereas UK...u need to be pretty sure of what u want to do....

and another qt of mine..i've applied to LSE for economics and politics and i applied in December...haven't gotten any reply yet.....so is that a good sign or a bad one? i mean my stats are pretty good....i get arnd 40 - 41 out of 42 in IB and my personal statement and recos are fine too...

Hey then, from what I've heard, you have a great shot! :)

^thnks:-D anyways,,,,wats ur name! i keep on callin u tetrigal.......lolzzz....

Hmm you should've got a conditional offer from LSE by now. What are your subjects?

gd sign, i received my offer last year around late april

if you receive it early, generally its bad (this year, all of my frens who heard from LSE early were rejected, and ALL of them had perfect scores and decent essays....very wierd)

yeah freeverse, i applied in early september (oxford international deadline) and just got my offer from LSE on march 18th. don't worry if you haven't heard yet.. i was dead certain they were going to reject me this late. good luck :)

whew! thnks a lot! really needed that reassurance! 'cuz i really was startn to get worried...u see everyone in my skewl who applied to LSE has heard frm them...except me... anyway..thnks a lotttt!!!

I've been reading through the post and the negative comparison of St. Andrews to other colleges was just unnecessary. I don't know much about British colleges but St. Andrews seems to be a decent, if not perfect, college.

I'm also applying to UK colleges from United States. I'm a junior in high school and thinking of applying to Oxford, Warwick, and Durham's PPE and similar courses in other colleges. I was wondering if it is a disadvantage or an advantage for an international to get an interview. Oxford's interview seems to be the most important factor; so wouldn't it be a huge disadvantage if they don't get to interview me in NY? I'd appreciate if others who went through similar situation share their experiences.

badass, in order to be considered, you have to be interviewed by oxford.
