US versus World History

I know that there've been threads about this before but my point is a little different. So, I'm an international student and I'm hesitating which one to take.
My question is mainly addressed to other international students - which one do you think is easier and which one is more interesting? I know that it depends on the point of view but I'm gonna spend at least one or two months studying for this test and I really don't want just to memorize things but to understand them and add them to my general knowledge. Do you think that US history has too many unnecessary details which are interesting mainly to Americans?

And also - do you think that taking USH instead of WH is better if I decide to apply to the US or it doesn't matter?

Thank you for your help in advance.

The colleges don't care. Probably World is better for you if you are studying from scratch.

personally, i thought world was much harder to self-study

two years of global honors w/great teachers didn't help! i studied SO MUCH and got literally 30 wrong. It has a good curve, and I got a 690.

one year of the worst teacher I've ever had + about 5 full days of studying = about 3-4 wrong...

Thank you :) I think I'll go with US though I don't have so much background knowledge!
