<p>I am a Canadian citizen but acquired and econ degree in the U.S where I achieved an abysmal cum. GPA of 2.4.
I am back in Canada and want to go to Grad school here in Canada. Most grad schools require a B average. From my understanding, a B average here seems to be a C average in the U.S due to the grading scale here in Canada where an A is above 80% and a B is above 70%. My question is do I have a B average here in Canada? I would appreciate any help on the matter.
Thanks</p>
<p>it does not matter what country you're in. B average = 3.0, but this question would be better answered by the admissions offices of the schools you're looking at.</p>
<p>Canadians use a different scale, where 50% is passing rather than 70%, but in my experience, they grade harder so that lower percentage is comparable to the higher percentage for the same letter grade in the states. I think your GPA stays as is :(</p>
<p>Do US schools have class avearage GPA of C and Ds, like Canadian? </p>
<p>I doubt it. More like Bs (and As).</p>
