<p>well its quite obvious that one's biased towards jhu and the other's all for ucl. The OP i dont even recall prestige being that major of an issue. I applied to several schools in the UK for electrical engineering and was accepted to UCL as well. I agree with you that UCL's strength or focus is not engineering or the sciences. They are brilliant for history, arts etc. I don't know too much about John Hopkins but almost everyone in my highschool who is considering biomed is in constant praise of JHU. It does seem like a fine university and you can't go wrong with that choice. In the end, weigh the pros and cons of a us vs. uk education. </p>
<p>Now after replying to the OP I would like to add a few pointers. University College London is easily one of the most prestigious names in the world. All schools in UofLondon, Cambridge and Oxford are very reputable institutions worldwide. JHU on the other hand is a well established university for the OP's field and perhaps their reputation in the united states for biomed is better. But it just shows incredible US and JHU bias when one says that JHU is more reputed than UCL in the UK and globally!</p>
