There are colleges in US where SAT is not compulsory. However, with that being said, I consider it highly unlikely that an international student would get in without taking the SATs.
Does anyone know any colleges/universities that have accepted such students?
PS. I wanted to talk my friend out of her beliefs that IELTS would be enough to get her a college/university.
Just google: SAT-optional schools. There are many schools.
Many universities simply use IELTS + secondary school record + national board exams, but these rarely give financial aid to students.
Yes a lot of them have ditched the SATs. But wouldn’t an international student be better off giving the exams?
Especially for one who needs a lot of financial aid?
Yes, a student who needs financial aid needs to take the sat, because all scholarships depend on test results.
