USA Biology Olympiad 2006

well your open exam score is moot once you qual for semis; it doesn't factor into the natls qual. congratulations though; my teacher claims that she can't access our individual scores yet so I'm still waiting for that. >.<

yea i understand but its just a gauge of where i might be right now... btw how do you suggest preparing for the semis and what will the format be like?

I hate my teacher. I asked him today and he said he thinks scores will be out later this week. DUMBASS.

How does it work? Does the teacher log in and tell the students? Or does the teacher give the students their ID's and they check their own scores?

Oh yeah and congrats to ffsoul on your amazing score. :)

Any word on how many people got 41's? Oh, and does anyone know the cutoff score?

I got a 31.

Do I hear USABO blowing in the wind? haha last year i barely missed...

Now I'm actually going to study and try to man-up this semifinal test!

We don't do the Olympiads.

26 was the cutoff.

I know someone who got a 41... but I'll wait for him to post it himself. :P

My teacher got an email saying 3 of his students are semifinalists. We had 7 people take it in all, so I have a 43% chance of being a semifinalist!

(We don't know who got what yet because our teacher lost his user ID. I suggested that he contact CEE to get it and he was like "yeah, maybe next week." UGH.)

Oh wow. That is obnoxious.

If you had to guess a cutoff for the top 20 scores, what would you say?

I guess I'll start by saying 35...

39 .

The actual score on the open doesn't matter that much. I barely scraped by last year and then made it to nationals. This year I got a 40 so I hope reverse logic doesn't apply :).

hey guys, im back. I ended up with a 36 this year. I think this year's test was harder, because I got a 35 last year, and i think i know more now. but yeah it doesnt matter how well you do on the open, just how much you bust your a$$ between now and the time you take the semi's.

Very impressive, tilos. Glad to see you back scorcher. I hope I'll see you both in June.
Anyone here from Santa Monica?

hey does anyone know how many peps got in the 40's this year, i got a 39 so i want to know how much competition there is lol
btw does anyone have any tests from previous years?
please send them to me @ pfalconed@yahoo.com

I made semifinals with a score of 30. I didn't prepare at all other than having taken AP Biology last year.

I'm surprised, because I don't remember any biology.

Don't have much hope for Finals. Oh well.

my teacher is having issues accessing the webpage. She got a call from cee saying that me and another kid qualified, but they didnt give our scores :( . What should we do to prepare for semis? If that includes doing old tests, does anyone know where we can get them? Would AP Bio review books help? Thanks.

Made it! :)

Congrats!!

How is everyone preparing for the semi-final exam?
