USA Chance Me - U of T

Hi, I’m a junior from NY state and considering U of T! I’m not quite clear on what the admissions requirements even are (since a lot of the stats are directed towards Canadian students) so I was wondering if anyone could let me know some details or do a chance me?

Background - Asian American, legacy (although do big universities even care about that?)

Academics - pretty good public school: 4.1W and 3.7UW … is this considered a “strong” GPA by U of T standards? I take a lot of honors/AP classes but my grades are not superb, mostly Bs
SAT is ok ~1400 but will probably go up to at least ~1450

ECs - debate captain, newspaper columnist, tons of community service/NHS stuff, nothing super special but maybe some more prestigious US summer camps

Would it be helpful to attend a prestigious Canadian camp that admissions officers would recognize more? Do US awards/ programs matter as much/hold as much prestige?

Canadian universities won’t care about your ethnicity or whether you are a legacy.

That’s a strong GPA. Wait, how can you get a 3.7 if your grades are mostly Bs? Your SAT is fine.

Most programs won’t care about ECs. What program are you planning to apply to?

“how can you get a 3.7 if your grades are mostly Bs?”

This is also what I am wondering.

U of T is going to be academically more difficult than high school, even if you are taking a lot of honors and APs. There are a lot of other very good universities in Canada, and even a few others in Toronto.
