i (10 characters)

naansian, your reply didn't come out... :(

i me self :P

i did too :p

me too.. it wants us to choose which college to go to by apr 5! decisions come out by apr 1!

naansian:
Congratulations! :D In fact, congrats to all of us!

x3rose:
Yeah, postmarked by Apr. 5th. X_X I still don't know which college I want to go yet. So far I got accepted to 6, but I'm still hearing back from more. I also need to consider financial aid (how much each school will offer me) too. But I am pretty sure that if we change our mind, we can always call them and change it. Just put down your first preferable school. We all know that the national deadline to accept acceptances is May 1st, so they should know that too. :-) Aside from that, I just need my parents' copy of income tax for 2006, then I can mail out everything.

Just2Fitz:
Heeey, didn't you get selected for Gates Millennium too? Your user name sounds familiar...

Yeah college18; if you got to the second round I think you'll be able to get into the selection for Gates.

ps. want to see something cool?
Here's a list of all finalist...

Just2Fitz:
Thank you for the list of all the finalists! I saw my name :) that made me happy...thank you so much bows
I still don't think I'll get selected for Gates Millennium despite that I got chosen as a finalist for this (USA Funds Access...). This scholarship is not as competitive as Gates... The more I think about what I submitted for Gates, the more I feel hopeless... X_X Well, thank you again for your encouragements, I really need them :-)

how long were your essays for gates?

Just2Fitz,
My essays for Gates were:
(with spaces)
Question 19: 1,832 characters
Question 20: 3,735 characters
Question 21: 3,094 characters
Question 22: 5,888 characters
Question 23: 3,519 characters
Question 24: 4,606 characters
Question 25: 4,272 characters
Question 25: 6,484 characters

The more I look at my essays now...the more I feel like I should've typed more stuff, especially the first (#19) question. (sigh) What was I thinking when I was completing the application?! OO It's said that contents don't have to be extremely long... I thought, at the time, that I did answer the questions... xx

looks like good length to me; your letter should be coming soon

Just2Fitz:
Wow, you reply fast :) makes me happy, haha
No, I didn't get selected for second phase...oh well -_-
At least I got selected to the 2nd phase for the APIASF scholarship ($2,000). Better than nothing...
I just realized that I might've ran out of official transcripts and next week is Spring Break..............*****...April 5th is next Thursday...

JUST kidding, I do have everything...haha
Good luck Justin :)

Just got notice that I got the scholarship...
BOM CHICKA WAH WAH!!!

COllege 18' got it too!!

Congrats! My son got the scholarship last year and it had a very easy renewal process for this year. So far he won't have any loans for his first two years of college which is making us VERY happy!

Yay, I got it too.

I'm guessing/hoping this is renewable every year? What's the renewal process like?

Yes, it is renewable up to $6,000 if you are selected as a high school senior (college students are eligible to apply too so they would get less overall). The renewal process is extremely easy. They send you a form and letter around March that asks if you want to renew your scholarship. Then you send it in with a copy of your transcript. Then you should get your renewal check (just like you get your first check) sometime before the school year.
