USA June SAT 2011 Writing Discussion

@xpjustsmile That one was confusing, but I put B. No idea if it’s correct.

For the combined question, the two choices we’re talking about are
combined x AND y
combined x ALONG WITH y

The “along” is what makes the second one incorrect, right?
“She combined paper along with paint.” That doesn’t make any sense to me.

What was the answer to the one that was like #11 on the last section about “individual states”

@neonblue: The options were this:

The flag [combined the cross and stripe]
The flag [was a combination of the cross as well as the stripe]

I believe the first is correct. Like you said, the ‘as well as’ makes the second incorrect.

Letsssss go over the passage-based problemsssss

for the section 10 question did you say the drummers have endurance like that of an athlete or like an athlete

@etennis: I don’t actually remember any questions, but if you shoot some out it might spark some recognition.

@joshmo: it’s that of an athlete. They are comparing the endurance of one thing to the endurance of another, not endurance to an athlete.

it’s “like that of an athlete”

i remember one passage question
it was something about neglect
i picked put it after sentence 2.

How bout the question about adding a sentence to the last paragraph?

if you’re talking about the home owner sentence, i picked delete from passage

@connieshi, No not that one, the one before that one

Delete it from passage.

king tut… and should be but also?

i skipped the berlin one, and the last one

was it something like…
“although "
"despite _
”
“yet ______”

or something that started with “witnessing”

Ppls, what you get for the passage-baed question b4 the delete one???

or was the berlin one experimental?

Connie: Do you remember any other part of the question? I don’t remember that one.

which question?
