<p>Received an email yesterday saying that there is a delay in making announcement due to the “overwhelming caliber of the All-USA nominees” - no mention of how much longer they expect it will take.</p>

- granted if you see it here and haven’t heard from them it means you didn’t get it, but at least it’s a way to check on status! The community college announcement shows under April Press Releases, so ours will show (hopefully) in June or July.</p>

<p>Yep. The press release for the community college awards posted the same day I saw announcements come from the local com. college; so if we see it posted before we hear from anyone it’s a safe bet we didn’t win - could be wrong but I’m thinking the winners have to be notified at least a week before the press release comes out so that they have the bios & pictures of winners for their article.</p>
<p>Well let’s hope we all are contacted before it hits the news feed! But it seems a lot of people are watching this thread so if any of you are contacted will you post so we can know that we weren’t?

<p>I want to wish you all best of luck. I was actually lucky enough to be selected to the first team last year. We were contacted about a good month (May) before the story hit the newspapers (June). I will have to check my school email account from ugrad to see the exact date that I was contacted but it was well before the public notice. Remember, if you are selected you need to take self potraits and send them to the newspapers because those are the photos that they use. The will also have to talk to you extensively so the writers can put together a story. The winners really should have been notified by now, I would think, but you never know. It was very great honor to put on my resume and I hope some of you can have the honor of doing so also.</p>
<p>Also, all of us 1st team members from last year are meeting up next month for a conference so we will all finally meet each other. Note that if you don’t go to HSPY or MIT/Caltech you still stand a great chance. Notice that only half of us from last year represented these schools, we were a diverse bunch. Good luck!</p>
<p>Wow! Thanks for the insight! That is what we needed! Jury is still out since no one has said the have already been contacted for pics! Let’s hope if someone has they will happen to see this and put us out of our misery! Ha!

<p>Well, i just got an email from our college advisor who helped our schools’ nominees and the email was from the USA team and they are just now finishing the preliminary judging and then on to the final. They said they would notify winning and non-winning applicants but wont be announced until end of July or early August! So good news is we are all still in it!</p>
