USABO 2017-2018

@littlescientist thanks for the date! I’m under the impression that this year will be low 20s because of the lack of earning partial credit on the questions. Instead of being able to earn 0.25 on a question, now it’s either right or wrong, making it harder

did u guys think it was harder than usual?

I feel like it was really focused on a specific topic… not gonna name it in case some people haven’t taken it yet

If you still haven’t taken the test, make sure you really study your biology; that topic was huge on the test.

i think open exam ended feb 16th i think everyone shouldve taken the exam now

Well, there could be extensions, unbeknownst to us.

I agree with biofinalist. I thought the open exam felt like an average one in terms of difficulty.

i think 27-28 is too high for this years test im estimating 25 at the highest but u never know

also is it just me or were the percentages for the content distribution on the website totally off??

yes it was definitely skewed

I’d say it was about the same difficulty as last year’s, so the cutoff should be about the same.

I disagree @Solanaceae

¡AY CARAMBA! PIENSO QUE EL LÍMITE ESTÁ CERCA DE 23.

I predict that the cutoff will be 24 (plus or minus 1 or 2 points). I agree that this was not one of the hardest open exams (not warranting a cutoff of 19-21), but it was not easy (not warranting a cutoff of 27-30).

can we discuss the test now?

Has there been any news of an extension for testing?

now we can discuss it

@Anonymousia I’ve seen conflicting reports about that, some day it’s safe to talk about the exam and others say to wait until March to be sure

Actually, several schools are taking it Monday so I’m assuming that’s the final day?

well we can def discuss it now if y’all want lol
