<p>Hi, I’m a freshman in high school and about a year ago I registered with the USAFA database for those interested in the Academy on their admissions website. Today, I was sent an invitation to what the letter says is “a USAFA sponsored Academy Day” on December 30. Part of it could be that I live in Fort Worth, TX, where the Armed Forces Bowl is the next day. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else knew anything about it or had recieved the same invitation.</p>
<p>My son just received this yesterday, Thursday. We are in the OKC area.</p>
<p>Do you plan on going? I am going, but I don’t know of anyone else who is.</p>
<p>We are not sure yet.Jeff’s dad is travelling and I am not sure yet if he wants me to take him.</p>
<p>My son went and gained a lot of info–well worth your time. In fact, he spoke with one Air Force officer–they really seemed to hit it off. Turns out, that particular officer ended up being his ALO, so the interview went well.</p>
<p>If you can go, I would highly recommend it. My husband and I both accompanied our son–there was a lot of information for parents as well as students. My son also got to meet the staff of the senators and congressman–well worth it.</p>
<p>I thnik I’ll be there, but I’m already a cadet. It’s on our schedule for Drum and Bugle since we’ll be at the Bowl game the next day.</p>
