Usapho 2014

@gatsbydies, I demand a formal apology from you as well. In the novel The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, the protagonist Gatsby does NOT die. Your spoiling of novels for young, active minds as well as stifling people of their physics interest and knowledge is utterly disgusting. Your outrageous reaction to a formal apology on a forum, which is a respectful and honorable action, shows that you are quite unsophisticated. Have fun with your few B’s in senior year spring!

Lmao this is almost too good
The only tragedy here is gatsbydies. A true literary disappointment.

so anyone want to start talking about physics again or… haha

I’m curious, have you seen the answer key that people here have been referring to? Can’t find them anywhere. Unfortunately, our school only offered the paper exam so I can’t check my score on webassign.

@majorineverything

Happy Holidays?

The list is out! Finally!!

http://9gag.com/gag/aBKEnp1?ref=fsidebar

Not funny! I actually clicked on that link :)

Just found out that results won’t be released until Monday at the earliest, and if not, by Tuesday.

Haha, I almost clicked on the link too. Then I wondered why anyone would host USAPHO results on there…Would teachers be informed of the scores in the event that only the paper exam was offered, or are we out of luck?

I don’t think so. Last year, my teacher didn’t even receive my score until a week after the semi-final list was released. Someone from Art of Problem Solving just called the AAPT office and was told to wait till next Monday or Tuesday. I think us paper exam-ers are pretty much out of luck for now.

Anyways, whenever you’re ready tbrad, you can come out of your hole to defend your measly position whenever you like.

From last year: “teachers will receive an email with a link to view their students scores.” So to all of you who took a paper test, try talking with your teacher monday or tuesday to get a better idea.

Hmm. At least i don’t create multiple accounts on an online forum to back myself up

@gatsbydies at least I will make USAPHO semifinals

Dude, I’m NOT gatsbylives. Why would I even need to create an email to back myself up against you? Your post was completely devoid of any instructional or intellectual value. You also demonstrated a hilariously terrible understanding of sarcasm, which essentially destroys all credibility you have with respect to social standards.

Champ, be nice :)

lets all calm down with the insults, whether or not someone makes semifinals doesn’t matter in their discussion because AAPT has official answers and people who took the test online can access those answers. I for one may not agree with the answers but there is still no reason to attack people on this forum over their credibility through their achievements in physics. (but if you want to attack me for being a n00b at physics beat 22.5 on f=ma before arguing)

On that note, does anyone have a solution with explanation for the helicopter problem that proves the circle in quadrant two to be correct?

What the heck is this “semicircle in quadrant 2”??? That wasn’t one of the choices.

semicircle in quadrant 2 was the only way that tbrad could describe the shape with his limited intellect.

Okay, I’m not sure who’s won this argument, but @greenbat23 and @majorineverything certainly win the biggest d-bag award.

I’ve posted this question in PhysicsForums.com. Hopefully it’ll get some answers. By semicircle in Q2 I’m assuming he meant choice D, which kind of resembles the graph of x= y^2
