I made it! Wow, I just took it on a whim.

good job !

Who else here made it? Anyone know what the quarterfinal test is like?

oh man, I miss the link every year. That was sneaky, not linking it from the information page.

the quarterfinal test is E&M. it's usually significantly more difficult than the previous round. Look for previous exams on the website.

Woo! I made it. Anyone know anything about the cutoff or when they'll post the f=ma exam/solutions?

@sleepy: quarter finals is not all e&m. only 1/4 problems was last year. Dif eqs seem fairly prevalent though, if only seperable and x''=-k^2x and x''=k^2x

http://www.aapt.org/physicsteam/2009/upload/F-ma-Exam-Solutions-2009.pdf is the solutions and the exam. I don't know much about the cutoff, but I definitely say that it's below 16.25.

Last year's cutoff was a 13.75.

This year, I got a 14.5 but didn't make it.

I wish I new about this test, I love physics, and I love doing mechanics problems. Oh well I guess next year I can take the preliminary.
