USC 2009 transfer thread

Is there anything on the admission statistics to the USC Thornton School of Music? I will be auditioning in a month or so and I am anxious to know my chance. :]

I'll be applying for Fall 2009 admission. It might be, but it depends for what major. What program are you applying to?

Psychology b.a.

You have a chance. The average admit GPA for Fall 2008 was 3.6.

hey grey, where did you find the average gpa for each school within USC?

USC doesn't post average GPAs for each school. I got 3.6, overall admit GPA, from the transfer manual.

I wanna wish everybody a happy new year, and as a prospective USC Fall 09 transfer myself, I wanna wish all fellow applicants (and anyone else on this board) luck.

Thank you to everybody who helped me out so far.

Good luck everyone! THANKS!!!

3.6
really?

i thought the average was a 3.7, even though it isn't THAT much of a difference
but i guess that's good news

does anyone know how difficult it is go get in for economics?
it's not a major you very often hear about, but thats probably because marshall is so good!

so... did anyone watch the rose bowl? :D

I went to the Rose Bowl.

What info do we have on Annenberg?

What info do we have on Annenberg?

Ask the google.

Winning the Rose Bowl was sweet. I hope Mark Sanchez and the other juniors decide to stay another year. :)

p.s. I can't believe it's been almost a year since I sent in my transfer app. if any of you need any additional advice let me know through PM since I'll be starting school soon again. :)

hey guys i just got my fall grades in after this LONG wait...
def. need some advice from you guys!

my major is Molecular Biology
My NEW cumulative GPA is a 3.63 a jump from a 3.45
my semester GPA was a 3.93 (a huge upwards trend from freshman year semesters)

You think thats good enough? i've been pacing back and forth around my house thinking about it alllllll dayyy :(

all my EC's and Sports and Internships are above the roof, only thing that concerns me is GPA :(

Who is applying to the SPPD at USC? Anybody thinking about a neuroscience minor or major? it appears they have some sweet research opps for the neuroscience students.

Does anybody know how many students SC admits? It states around 1500 or so enroll, but that means they have to admit above that number. I am thinking more like 2300

How do you think the credit crunch is going to impact financial aid? Personally, federal loans will sustain themselves, but the private loans granted from the bank will/is shrink(ing). I think this might deter some students from applying. After seeing the distribution of financial aid, SC states private, federal, and parental loans account for 35% of all financial aid granted to students. Willing, from these stats, it is hard to ascertain what percentage accounts for federal loans. However, the decrease in that 35% will leave some students hanging. I may be off completely, but USC will probably see a shrink in the applicant pool. What are your thoughts?

i was thinking the same thing
but also it will prob see a decrease in the number of current students
i know of a couple of people that simply can't afford to attend anymore and have either dropped out or changed schools.
i was wondering how and if that will affect the number/percentage of acceptances given out for this coming fall.

Do you think that telling USC that I can pay full tuition will help my chances of getting in?
