@Eshug1 - All app paperwork is due by Feb 1st 2010. The personalized forms are utilized if you fax in your transcript yourself. It will save you a step to simply have the official transcript/s sent directly from the HS/college to USC instead since in that case you don’t need to worry about the fax coversheets.

^^are we not allowed to send HS/college transcripts ourselves? i still have one HS official, unopened transcript left. but if i want my HS to send one i have to pay like $20 or some BS like that. but i guess i should get used to overpaying for school services if i go to USC :)

I was thinking that too lakerforever, i have one in my room im gonna send…how would they know they difference? does it have the seal that says if it is opened then it is unofficial.

So when sending our college/HS transcript do we have to include our USC ID number?? On the site it says we should attach the form to our transcript, but is that just if our HS wants to fax it to them, because it says send by mail?? Hmmm

“Send by mail official, final high school transcripts. Be sure to attach a copy of Form 7, Transcript Request Form for High School Records to each high school transcript you submit.”

You can send the forms yourself, just use the personalized fax coversheets when you do so. Thw coversheets should have your USC ID# on them.

hey does anyone know where the letter of rec forms are for professors to fill out?? (or are there any?)

also, i’m applying to annenberg. is there a letter of rec form that they need to fill out for that too??

Transfers are not required to send in letters of rec which is why they only have the form for freshman admits. If you want to have a letter from a prof sent then they can just write it out on their letterhead while mentioning your usc id# and then mail it into admissions.

thanks so much kulakai!

For those interested, the 2010-2011 school year FAFSA application is now available: [FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid](http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/)

so in order to apply for FA for USC, do we need to fill out both the FAFSA and the CSS profile?

Just follow the directions step-by-step: [USC Financial Aid - Applying & Receiving Financial Aid - Undergraduate - New Students](http://www.usc.edu/admission/fa/applying_receiving/undergraduates1/newstudents.html)

Hey does anyone know what the average admitted gpa for a psych major is? I tried searched but no luck :/

I just started my Part 2. I know it’s optional for me (completed more than 30 transferable units) to put in SAT 1 scores, but when i filled my PART 1 app i just put them in. Should i just erase the scores? i got 1910 :(

oh also, do we have to report our AP scores or is it optional too? i didn’t use any of them for credit b/c i just retook them at my cc, and the other ones i didn’t pass,…

hey i’m also applying for annenberg and they require a letter of rec as well. is there a specific form that the professors need to follow for this specific letter?

Since I’m a freshman applying as an incoming sophomore, is it a wise decision to apply as an undecided than to Marshall? I mean, I would imagine it would make the applicatino process easier since there’s no supplement to fill out. Would I have a better chance of being accepted if I went this route?

@boss529. There is no form or cover sheet for letters of rec, even for Annenberg. Just have your professor mail it and include your USC I.D. Are you applying to Broadcast Journalism? I’m applying for the Communication major.

Can I apply to CAS to transfer and then internally transfer to Marshall after a semester in CAS?

@XoXoCC - Yes but I’ve read it will count against you so it is a risky thing to try. Some schools don’t even let you do the double transfer such as NYU who will not let you transfer into Stern from CAS if you transferred to CAS first.

If someone else has heard of someone successfully transferring into CAS as a backdoor into Marshall, please correct me.

for those Annenberg transfers, I have a question. it says for the communication major one must have no more than 64 units, but I will have 74 units done by spring and this is my second year a a community college… will this hurt my admissions since I have 74 units???

@socal4 - Those are transfer “recommendations” meaning to make the most efficient transfer to usc for a communication major, you should not complete more than 64 credits at your current school because you will be completing an additional 64 at usc to complete your degree. Essentially taking more than 64 means those extra credits will not transfer so they are suggesting guidelines on what to take so you don’t waste money on taking additional coursework you don’t necessarily need. Make sense?

socal4, you completed 74 semester units in two years? That’s A LOT! Nice work. Are you applying from a CC?
