USC 2010 Transfer Thread

I think it’s time that people focus more on USCs academics rather than their sports. While the football (which I’m an undying fan of) brings USC its prevalence, I think that shadows programs like Marshall and the film school. Possibly a catch 22 either way.

Not to say that Carroll is or isn’t leaving, just a thought.

for people applying to Marshall, on the supplemental app it says we need WRIT 130…but in the articulation agreement w/ USC and my ccc it says to take WRIT 140…is there a misprint on the USC app or did my ccc F it up

NVM i guess we can do either one

Thanks AMorrison!

Hi,
is Calculus 2 a must for marshall?
if i am not going to take it will it lower my chances?

Only Calc 1 is required as a prereq for Marshall.

I’m going to be taking 3 out of the 4 pre-reqs for Marshall this coming Spring Semester.
Do I have to give this line on their website any thought or can I just ignore it as classes will not have started by Feb. 1?

^where do u see that message? link?

under the “Marshall Transfer Applicants” section of [USC Marshall Undergraduate Programs Admissions Transfer Students](http://www.marshall.usc.edu/undergradprograms/admissions/admissions-transfer-students.htm)

well you’re probably jsut going to get a SGR. i have the Calc prereq for Spring also. i’m not sure if i’ll get the SGR too b/c i have a 4.0 through 59 units at the time of my application.

But it says on the site:

“The Marshall Admission Committee will require final grades for ALL prerequisite courses.”

whatever…i’ll worry about that in april

Wow Pete Caroll leaving USC for NFL Seatle Seahawks…

he’s leaving his golden child barkley behind!

Deadlines coming soon guys! I hope I’m not the only one lagging my personal statement.

And as for transcripts, can we send them in after the Feb. 1 deadline?

for marshall ppl, i transferred (as a junior) with a 3.4 transferrable and 3.8 pre-req gpa.
no recs, little ecs and good personal statement/essay/answers; most of you are in a way better position than i was. writing a really good essay does help a lot. i wrote about networking with a business owner and finding out he was a recent usc biz grad and yadayada. i say just make sure you complete ALL prereqs w/ good grades at the latest of spring semester (you will receive an SGR if they are in-process imo)

who’s going to the jan 22nd transfer day? if any of you guys went to the past transfer days, are they strict on bringing guests? they only let me reserve a spot for me, but i want to bring 1 or 2 friends. is that ok?

The guest list will include only those that have registered. Take that for what it is. As related, I’m going and I think it’s a good time to take a headcount of who on the forum will be included and meet up in-person.

I’d love to go to a transfer day, but there’s no way I can miss a whole day of classes just to do that. :(
