Use google street view to look at the address. I’d hardly consider the area north of campus to be ghetto either. There are plenty of other threads talking about the areas to avoid(usually west/south/east of campus)

@lakerforever24: Yeah, my budget is aimed around $850/mo

@Kulakai: Thanks for the PM! I’m an older student too, so off-campus housing is also what I’m looking for.

If anything, I know I’ll at least be renting a room and that I want gated parking. The majority of my time will be spent sleeping in the library. :)

Just re-posting this to give the lowdown on everyone’s major. Depending on who gets accepted, perhaps the housing arrangements can be based around this list:

lol wow I just got THREE MORE of those thank you for applying to USC letters, and I have a total of 8 of the same letters, I hope this is a good sign!

@SkylineisMine I’m not worried, just curious as to what it could be.

When do they start reviewing transfer applications?

SkylineisMine, I submitted my college transcripts a little over a week ago. I know it takes a couple of weeks for it too process my only concern is that it says that they have everything and I do not have to submit anything else.

So does anyone have the same issue where some document is not processed yet but it says you have everything turned in?

Thanks

@zach: It is a big mess every year. Just wait a few weeks before being concerned enough to contact them to follow up on it.

@striker15: I do know that they are reviewing the freshman applications already since they take priority. Transfer notifications go out starting around May, so it’s safe to assume that application reviews may even start in late March or early April. Heck, for all we know, they could be reviewing them now.

@zack504 Yup I do as well. No need to worry

@skyline Oh alright then i guess i have to turn in my LOR as soon as it is done then.

just got my status updated today

Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2010)
We have received and are currently reviewing your application. We recommend you check here occasionally for an update on the status of your application.

submitted all my documents (LOR, hs trans, college trans etc) on the 21st of jan IN PERSON.

only 4-5 months till the confirmation letter…man. so longgg

Here’s what I’ve got:

"We have received your Part I and Part II applications and are preparing your file for review. We recommend you check here occasionally for an update on the status of your application. "

That is exactly what I had and then it turned into

We have received your application, and it appears we need more information. Please ensure you have submitted all required items. Due to the high volume of application documents we receive, allow sufficient processing time.

:(

Hopefully it gets sorted out soon. I would hate to have to face the devilish high school clerk again to get a transcript.

hey what do you use to sign in to oasis? i tried the same stuff as for the usc app but it didnt work

^u need to sign up to that site separately. oasis uses a username to login whereas the USC app site uses ur email address

@Brianlee - That is the status it updates to when they process your app but have not processed your documents in yet. Half of the people on here probably have the same status. No one should worry until it has been 3-4 weeks later and the status says they STILL don’t have your transcripts. That is when you call them :)

@lakersforever24-
thanks i got it and signed up and everything

Hey guys, in my application I wrote down that I attended Pierce College, which technically I did. However, I took a college class from Pierce AT my highschool DURING highschool for highschool credit. Under documents, It says that I still need to submit my Pierce transcript. Can I call them and tell them that I took a class that counted towards high school graduation? (I got a B and I dont want it to affect my gpa, and they do NOT count classes that count towards highschool graduation).
