USC 2010 Transfer Thread

Not sure if this has been mentioned somewhere already, but I read on the transfer brochure that 26% of transfers received admission offers in '09. That actually sounds pretty high?

Soooooooo… does anyone know approximately what date the acceptance letters start flowing in and when the statuses begin to get updated??? I’m already starting to get a bit anxious hahahahaha XD

@Foodmunkee - The bulk of them will start to roll out the end of May/Early June. If past transfer threads on CC are any indication then some people will start to receive them in early May even so you really don’t need to start feeling anxious for a few more months :P

@Kulakai Sweet! Good I can relax a bit for now… hahahaha XD

yeah i still check my status pretty much everyday, but i read somewhere in last year’s thread that someone called admission and they only started reviewing transfer applications around mid-April. dont quote me or anything though haha.

@tbibbs I spoke to the Admissions office today and they said they will begin reviewing transfer apps in March. Last year, my friend got her acceptance letter for transfer in early March. But I think that’s the earliest we’ll find out.

A few people were admitted around Mid-April, but (as previously mentioned), most will hear in May. Decision letters are already being mailed to freshmen; it’s too bad that it isn’t the same for us!

@tbibbs ahhh i see lol. By the way I was just wondering did your status change to “we received your application” a couple of days after you submitted your application?

@dreamingUSC ahhhhhhh I can’t wait!!! It’s only been two weeks since I submitted the application too hahahahahahahahaha

I submitted my application in late October. Now the anxiety is really starting to get to me. I’m just trying not to slip up this semester just in case I get a SGR. And yes, I also log-on virtually every day to see if my status has updated. It hasn’t…

If they still have not recieved my college transcripts, should I send them again?

I’d wait to send it in again, at least for another week or so. According to my status, they have yet to receive my LOR and HS transcript (which, frankly, is bull, considering I delivered both documents by hand to the admissions office). Do recall that there are many applications and much supplementary information to process; thus, a change in status will be slow.

so now that winter session is over and i got an A…do i send in an unofficial transcript for the update? or…send in another official?

im sending an official one in, just ordered the transcript yesterday!

dang guess i gotta fork out money now :(

I imagined you would send in your winter grades along with your spring grades if you had less than 30 units. I’m sure that with only 20 units completed and 14 in progress, I am going to receive a SGR.

Should I be sending in a copy of an official transcript with my winter grade?

@brianlee hmm in my opinion you should just send it in asap, if you have a really high GPA and you received As in your winter session, then I would imagine it could benefit you and you might not get an SGR, but despite that I would still send it in unless sending transcripts costs you alot of money, which I doubt.

I was reading 2009’s thread and someone from the same major as me got a request for an interview in mid-march… seriously if I have to interview I will probably pee my pants and blow all my chances because I will be so nervous… now I’m freaking out. I can’t stop looking at my status either, hoping it will change.

Anyone else going obsessive over this?? I hope I’m not the only one, haha.

Not too obsessed. I’m more concerned about the GPA verification on my CAL Grant going through on time. I’ve been checking that every day here at work. It seems that they are flooded with GPA verification letters.

@daisydaisy - I wasn’t aware that transfers were ever asked to interview. You sure?

@skyline wait you’re doing the GPA verification for a Cal Grant because you haven’t received one at your previous college correct? Because I’m trying to do the Cal Grant transfer request form [having done the GPA verification for my current university last year] and it won’t let me, but I’m guessing I can only do the action after I get accepted into USC.
