Hey guys, it looks like all you guys know what you wanna do and that’s great! I sent in Part I, and I’m slowly working on Part II. My major will be architecture, but for the 2nd option it’s just undecided. Are there any other architecture major transfers out there? Btw, I’m planning to transfer in after one year of community college :D

“Beginning in November, ALL students will be required to access their financial aid information through USConnect.”

Who has already submitted financial aid information or have started? I always tend to leave that for last (i know bad). If you have, what have you submitted? They say to log in and use the Document Management System but i can’t find it. Can someone help me please? Or clear all of this up for me? :-/

That message is directed at all students and applicants, not just to transfers. Current students used to access financial aid information through Oasis, now they go through USConnect. It does not suggest or imply that current applicants have already submitted financial aid applications.

Transfer finanacial aid applications have the same due dates as for freshman applicants.

-File the CSS/Profile and 2011-2012 FAFSA by February 2, 2011
-FAX copies of your 2010 tax returns to USC by March 2, 2011, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Note: The 2011-2012 FAFSA is not available until January 1st, 2011, so you cannot submit it until then.

Hey guys. I am interested for USC for Theatre and Film Production. I am applying to double major.
There was something i was wondering about and i want to see other peoples opinion about it. As a CC Theater major, there is not much general classes to take. For USC cores, you need Anthropology and Sociology to transfer which currently i do not have. I am graduating this semester for a Theater degree. At the CC I am at, I could come back next semester and take these class. I also could change majors to Liberal Arts and also get a second AA degree.

What I want to know is will it help boost my chances to get in to USC?

@stargurl93 - I think completing the gen ed categories is more beneficial than just getting a degree because the former classes are the ones that are more likely to transfer.

Yesssss thank you @alamemom! I just hope that what you listed are the only things to do because their website to me seems like theres a million things to do in terms of financial aid.

Also, isn’t the whole GED plan for USC a graduation requirement? which means that you can still get accepted even if you didn’t complete ALL the courses from the articulation agreement from category 1 to the language requirement (unless AP took care of that, then it is from category 1 to the diversity requirement for those of you with AP credit)?

yeah, you don’t need to complete the categories… but it’s more useful/frugal to finish those gen eds instead of investing your time and money into electives that won’t transfer. :/

as long as you have the math, writing, language, and diversity requirements fulfilled you’re all good.

Hmmm… the CSS/Profile, FAFSA, parent and student 2010 tax returns… California students who have not previously received a CalGrant should also have their community college submit a GPA verification to CSAC… If your parents are divorced, a custodial parent form (non-custodial form is not required)…

That is it to apply. Some applicants will be asked for additional information and forms, but they will contact you if they need more. Then the WAITING begins!

hey there , anyone who is reading this, I am really, really stressed out about this.

I’m trying my best in class, but it’s not looking like my transferable gpa will be over a 3.3 in time to apply.

Not tooting my own horn or whatever, but I do have pretty good EC’s, will have a great essay, but it’s just my gpa holding me down.

I will be applying for business admin as my 1st priority, and my 2nd priority being INT RELATIONs/Global Business.

I’m beginning to worry if my grades won’t be good enough to get in. Would I be better off applying for another easier major? Would I call the help desk and just ask them what the easiest major is to get in?

snizzle - do NOT call USC and ask which major is easiest to get into. That will not give them the right idea. You should want to go to USC because you love the school/your chosen major, and asking for the easiest major will make it seem like you just want to get in so that you can say you go to USC.

Yeah, I’m just not sure what to do I appreciate your response.

My EC’s relate strongly to my major (business), so I’m hoping if it’s not good enough to get into bus admin, it’ll be good enough to get into int relation/glob bus.

Also, my boss has made contributions to USC, and is very good friends with Andrew Viterbi and many of the people there. Will a letter of rec from him help? I can’t help but feel it’s a cheap shot at brown-nosing…? :/
