Just write something similar to “looking to transfer” or “degree awarded” etc. Don’t over think the application too much.

Just write something similar to “looking to transfer” or “degree awarded” etc. Don’t over think the application too much.

I have a tendency to do that unfortunately…haha and then under the HS I graduated from, where it says Diploma/Degree, I should put Dipoloma? Correcto? Haha

Dude Mitch you’re a big help, are you waiting till next year to transfer?

I just put “transfer attempt” or something like that in my “why you left your institution” for the CC.

@CallofDuty84

Yeah. Diploma. I believe it does not ask for a reason for leaving, but if it does I’m sure “graduated” will be sufficient.

And no problem. Anytime man. We’re all here to help.

And yeah I’m waiting until next year. I applied to SC’ last year and didn’t make it. A week after the rejection I found the transfer forum. It really helped me with not only what I needed for USC, but also transferring in general. I already saved the posts about 30 unit by spring, EC, and other important posts for next year. Haha. I know people are going to ask the same questions.

I can remember the feeling I had during the spring; clueless and not an idea where to commence on the transfer process. I feel like I owe it to those who helped me with the questions I had to help those not only in the present but as well in the future.

I’ll be able to say I posted in the 2010, 2011, and 2012 USC transfer thread. Haha. Crazy but looking forward to it. Plus being on this board helps me pass the time until next year.

HAHA glad to see that this thread has been active! I guess the due date is getting closer and closer guys.

And…im having a writers block on my essay, I see some of you guys have already finished-the wait begins!

I have a question: Do you guys think Business Calc at my CC will transfer? Its offered at my school, but Calculus 1 is offered as well. I dont know which to take. I dont wanna take calculus
hmph, oh well.

Pikachu: The articulation agreement can answer your first question for you. Take business calc if you don’t like math. Bus Calc is a very basic introduction of calculus with a heavier emphasis on word problems (usually business related: pricing, change, equilibrium, break-even, etc.); whereas, regular calculus incorporates trigonometry and puts heavier emphasis on the traditional “rules” of calculus, which prepares you for calc 2.

^Same here, pikachu. I have an idea of what to write and have been told its a great topic, but I can’t seem to get it down on paper. Also, I keep thinking that there are so many better ideas out there and mine would never beat the other applicant’s essays. The more I write, the more and more I want to go to USC!!!

@everyone,

where it says to list your classes for fall, winter, and spring, do we need to list the grades we got for fall? or just the class and unit value?

Just checking!

Chance me guys… Transfer student from CC out of state in Florida

GPA: 3.7
Applying Major:USC Marshall School of Business(Finance)
EC: 80 hours of community service, Small T-shirt selling business with a website.

@CallofDuty84: I couldn’t list my grades for fall because my deadline was before the end of my fall semester. That is why I need to give USC an updated transcript.

So I don’t think you have to. I think your transcript will cover the grades.

Syd- did you apply for SCA?

Yes I did.

Alright that’s what I thought. For the activity page, are all the sophomore transfers listing their high school and college Ec’s?

I listed HS stuff as a Junior transfer.

I mean, why not?

That’s true. Syd- is this your first time applying? Happy holidays everyone!!!"

Yes it is. Hopefully it’s my only time applying. This is my only application and it was extremely stressful.

^Are you only applying to USC?

Syd- I truly do believe that USC looks at individuals like humans. Im sure if you put a decent amount of effort, they will recognize it. How was it stressful? Or are you just nervous?

@snowboard129: Yes. Only to USC. I know I’m dumb but USC is the only school I want to go to.

@CallofDuty84: It was stressful because it always seemed like something would go wrong regarding the application procedures. My internet would die when I needed to send something in on a deadline, a teacher that was writing me a rec had a family emergency that required him to go to his home country, and I generally have just never thought over something like I’ve thought over this application.

I felt that “God” or some “evil spirit” was causing the bad things to happen. But in the end, I conquered this thing and truly believe that the Oracles of the Admissions Office are surrounded by an impenetrable bubble that this evil cannot touch.

So yes…lots of stress

Syd- if you don’t get in, (which I hope you do) what are your plans?
