USC 2011 Transfer Thread

Has anyone sent their community college transcript and have it confirmed by USC?

Yes mine was sent and received by them

On USConnect, you go to admission documents or something, and it says the different parts of your application that they received.

im kinda worried about the withdrawl thing :confused: are they bad if u provide medical reason?

Hey guys,

Quick question - If they receive the letter of recommendation by like Feb 2nd or 3rd, and it is NOT postmarked by feb 1st, but like feb 2nd, would it be considered late?

@anandrenga2001: I think it would be technically late but from what I’ve read, USC is very, very flexible when it comes to that sort of thing. I’m not entirely sure though.

I just called the admissions office to confirm that they did indeed get my updated transcript. I waited for about three minutes. This kind of shocks me, because when I was calling around Dec 1st I would wait for 15-20 minutes due to the freshman admissions traffic. Are there not as many transfers applying this year? :/

ok i’m going to submit my application today but just in case something gets screwed up…
does the February 1st deadline mean that it has to be submitted by midnight tonight or tomorrow? This is probably a stupid question but I’m very timid right now!
oh and on the USConnect admission documents section how do you know if they received your document? Is it a dash next to the document name? Thank you

Chapman - one W won’t hurt. same situation bro
snizzle- don’t worry, finish it before the year is over.
sydneyral- Well I’m sure every year about 8,000 people apply. This is much better than the 35,000 application pool. I think it really depends on what major everyone is applying to. I mean, Marshall is really competitive, a lot of Marshalls on here, so they can probably only accept a certain amount of students for each major.

Bottom line is that yes maybe because of financial difficulties, less people are transferring. But I doubt it is a drastic decrease. Just make sure you have a second choice major down.

ehleeut- It is NOT a stupid question! I’m pretty sure its tomorrow Feb 2nd 11:59 PM.

I’m wanting to drop my vocal lessons and add a micro/macro economics and was wonderinf if having a W on my transcript would hurt. I have 5 W’s right now…The economics class is transferrable and the vocal lessons are not needed, what should I do??

@ sydneyral: thanks for the reply

@snizzle77 where is the admission documents tab? i can’t find it…i really want to know if they have received my stuff.

I applied last year (senior year) so it says that they have received all the documents needed since I sent it in for when I applied. Does that mean I have to resend any of those documents and list all my AP/SAT scores again? Also, do I have to relist all the activities I have done throughout high school till now or just the most recent ones since the end of hs?

quick question:

Do I need to have my transcripts postmarked by tomorrow to USC, or can I send them in in a week? Also, Do I need to have mY CSS Profile and Fafsa completed by tomorrow?

nabilesmail- I called in on Friday and asked that same question. The lady told me that only the online portion of the application needed to be submitted by February 1st. She said that it would be okay to turn in the transcripts after the date. Also, the CSS Profile needs to be turned in by tomorrow but I am pretty sure the FAFSA is not due until March.

Can somebody please help me answer this last question. Under “unit count” do you put the number of units you will have by the end of spring or the units you have as of now? It gives a short description of what to do under the answer box, but I want to make sure I do the right thing.

Thanks in advance

Pugluverg, the FAFSA is also due Feb 2nd!!! (Cal Grant is due in March)

Snowboard129, thank you for the correction!

which address do i send the transcripts to? there seems to be two different ones…

so whats the backdoor method? and when will it be useful to know.?

@pugluverf, no problem!

Does anyone know if USConnect crashes on the deadlines? Im probably going to submit my app tomorrow night and don’t want to experience any problems.

Just submitted! Does anyone know how we can tell if they have received our documents (like rec letters/transcripts). Someone on this thread said they checked on the application itself…anyone know how?

@Laxlove

It’s too early for the backdoor. It will be posted when the time is right. Haha.

^ what’s the “backdoor”?
