I think it really depends on the major. Even though 60 units lets the admission officers know that you’ve been well situated and tuned to college expectations, extra curriculars can definitely give you some edge to your application. For example, someone who’s applying to Marshall who has started a business venture would definitely impress the admissions team and may override any doubts they may have of accepting you. Just my two cents.

I sent my transcripts to 3730 McClintock Avenue Los Angeles, CA 90089. I wrote undergraduate admissions applicant on the envelope. Are they still going to get my transcripts? Or else I will have to re-send them?

Hey. My professor emailed me two weeks ago to say she would be happy to write me a LOR, but I haven’t heard from her since. LOR are not required for my major so I’m not so urgent in time, but in case she forgot, what do you guys think I should write in an email to her?
Thanks.

So i got the admission documents box finally, but when I click on it, a new window opens up saying: "This service is unable to process your request at this time. This service is only available to Admission and Financial Aid applicants. "
Did anyone initially have this error?

I also got a status update that says:

“We have received your application, and it appears we need more information. Please ensure you have submitted all required items.”

@CrownoftheSea there is counselor assigned to specific regions and community colleges. On the admissions website you should be able to enter your ccc code and find out who is designated to your school

@Chapman: Yes, I am a Comm major! Anyone else on here applying for Comms? What are your stats?

I hate to turn this into a “What are my chances?” response, but I’m hoping my 60+ units, 2 AA’s (lulz, like they’ll really matter), tons of major-related EC’s, and 3.83 will get me into Annenberg despite a crappy essay :(

@Snowboard: Yeah, I definitely did not put very much effort into it. I sort of just tweaked my UC essay ever so slightly, but hey, let’s hope that other factors will be our saving grace!

I am not applying this year cuz I am a freshman at CC. I will be, however, applying next year when I have more units (high school grades still haunt me).

I will be following this thread closely so I can better prepare myself to all the intricacies of the application process.

I wish everyone the best of luck and hope to see every single one of you there next year as a member of the Trojan Family

anyone else have indenting problems? When I went over my app, everything was indented perfectly, then i went to check out my application and the first paragraph on my essay did not get indented while the other ones did! :(

Madddie - Thats a great gpa! What school are you at currently? I have a 3.6 and I’m hoping my essay really stands out, it wasn’t quite 500 words but it was concise and well written. I had like 3 college counselors read over it.

callofduty - for the indentations i just pressed the space bar 8 times to match the other ones since the intro wouldn’t indent. also, are you dorming at uci right now?
