USC 2011 Transfer Thread

@Call of Duty I have no idea what their basis is on granting fall vs. spring admission but I’m guessing that for those that are granted a spot in the spring is because USC would want to see more coursework from that individual.

@anandrenga2001

I’m not familiar with a SGR. However, I assume it must follow the same progression.

For example:

to…

to…

From that point, I have no clue. It might go back to the original status or might just go straight to review. If the latter then I assume the rules still follow. Once again, this is just speculation.

Hmmmm…why do I have a list of forms for SCA in the document library when I didnt even apply there? Should I contact usc about this or its nothing to worry about?

Does anyone’s status still say ‘we are unable to process the status of your application at this time?’

I posted all my documents(transcripts,LORs,bank docs) last week(Jan 30) and submitted my application online on that day as well. However my status still says ‘we are unable to process the status of your application’ and my documents tab shows that transcripts.etc have not been recvd. VERY WORRIED!..

My daughter did that also and her Document Library says the same thing. They say you can call to verify the receipt of docs., since the student is responsible for that and the school isn’t obligated to tell you what they are missing.

@Julianne41. Frankly, we were given the impression by USC Admissions that they look at transfers from community colleges with articulation agreements first because they HAVE to transfer somewhere. Those already in a 4 year college can still continue where they are. (My daughter is one of those students already in a 4 year college so we’re crossing our fingers!)

CRAP. i didnt know we were suppose to fill out the css profile. now its too late :(

You can still turn in the CSS. Those financial aid deadlines say “Or as soon as possible” after the due date is listed.

I’m in a pickle because I won’t qualify for the CalGrant. :<

@MEGUCT. I would call USC and ask. I think something is wrong if it says that.

I have two questions, someone please answer!

For the Marshall Supplemental Application it says “FOLLOWING USC EQUIVALENT COURSES MUST BE COMPLETED BY THE END OF SPRING 2010: USC’s WRIT 130, ECON 203, ECON 205 and MATH 118 or higher.” Don’t they mean Spring 2011?

Also for the Marshall Supplemental Application where it says “Have you completed the optional financial and managerial courses?” I accidently put no…however, I wrote in all my courses and everything. Does this matter?

@MikeAM

Marshall admissions director Tiffany Frye addressed that at transfer day. It is meant to say Spring 2011, and ECON 203 and 205 are not supposed to be there.

I’m sure the admissions counselors will understand when reviewing your application.

@MEGUCT

i called admissions today because my document portal isn’t showing anything that i’ve submitted either. they said to continue to be patient and wait until the end of the week. i talked to them last week and they told me to wait as well. they’re not done processing everything yet i guess.

quick question, hope someone can help. I’ve only completed 12 units at the time of application with a 4.0 GPA but have another 20 units in progress. all of the units are transferable and all of the classes are listed on my CC’s articulation agreement. I’ll also be done with two semesters of language by spring. the language is Chinese (not the easiest in the world). is there a chance i will get a straight out acceptance? or is there no way they’ll accept me without a SGR? applied as undeclared.

I don’t know how an admission decision is made for undeclared majors. Receiving a spring grade request is likely if the student has not completed major pre-requisites. Since you’re applying as undeclared, I think they’ll decide to give you a spring grade request if you have USC general education requirements in progress.

hi can someone tell me where to find the documents tab. i cant seem to find it

HEKTOR007: just login to the USConnect, go to the undergraduate box on the left. click that, then it’ll take you to 4 boxes. one of them is your application, the one on the right is your documents (click there), bottom left I forgot, and bottom right should be the twitter ad.

i agree with mike…usually SGR is if you have something in progress or something or you have to complete the English requirement… i have a 3.8 from last quarter, but im taking 18 units this quarter…would it look bad if my gpa drops to a 3.7

thanks guys

and @CallofDuty84, usually SC looks for progress and “trends” in your grades. but i wouldn’t worry, if you have the completed pre reqs and over 30 units by spring then you should be fine with a strong application. the average admitted transfer gpa last year was 3.66.

is the site not working today for anyone else???

just doing 1 of my 500 daily application status checks :D

I was just gonna ask!

It’s not working for me either…I was trying to see if they finally processed my college transcript yet

Website is working for me.

STOP CHECKING. IT AINT CHANGING FOR A WHILE :D

site isn’t working for me either :(
