USC 2011 Transfer Thread

The online course policy is in the transfer brochure somewhere, I don’t really feel like digging it up though. XD

@dream

Procrastinating so I thought I dig it up. Haha.

Anyways…

Courses/Units That May Transfer

I really do not see the issue though. The majority of schools do not list a class as taken online so it would be difficult for USC to find out if the class was taken either in a classroom or online. It requires too much time to individually check.

Thanks @Mitch ;)

My transcript doesn’t show the classes I took online. Anyways, they were just two electives during the summer.

Looks like the site is randomly working.

Good luck to all! :)

Post up if any of your statuses change.

My bio class is a hybrid with an online lab. I think most CC’s know nowadays that universities don’t like big gen ed courses to be taken online, especially math and science.

did any of you guys get mail from USC saying they received your application?

I’m still not 100% sure if they recieved my transcripts and letters of rec (I mailed them, not uploaded) but I got the letter so should I assume they received everything?

Hey Maddie,

I received the letter as well about a week ago. Does anyone know if it looks bad if you get a B in one of your pre-req’s for your major?

@Maddie

i got the letter too, but it doesn’t mean they received everything. it only means you successfully submitted part II of the application. the only way you can check to see if they received everything is by checking your document portal on usconnect or by calling the office of admissions.

Anyone else still waiting for them to upload your transcripts? It’s been over two weeks and it still stills ‘required’ instead of received. I sent it with my HS transcript and that has already been logged, wondering if I need to resend…

I got the letter back in November when I turned in part II…but nothing else was turned in yet. It only means part II has been accepted. I’m sure you will get your letter soon, there are a lot of letters that need to be mailed out.

@CrownoftheSea: Just give admissions a call. I bet they have them.

UPDATED THIS MORNING!

We have received your application, and it appears we require no additional information at this time. We will be reviewing applications through the month of March, and we expect to be able to meet our commitment to notify freshmen by April 1st. We often like to see the mid-year grades of freshman applicants. If you have not already done so, please submit your final, fall term marks when they become available. You may submit them at USConnect by clicking “mid-year grade reports”, or by visiting www.usc.edu/midyeargrades. Sometimes, in the course of our review of applications, we find that we need additional information. In such cases we will mail a written request. If you receive a request for more information, please respond promptly.

So should I be looking for an update relatively quickly now?? By the way, I’m a transfer, not freshman…

@MDG099,

My status has said that since the day after I submitted my transfer application. It just means that USC has your required materials, such as transcripts. I don’t think the status will change until transfer applications are under review, which is sometime around late April or early May.

At the same time however, some transfers get reviewed early with the freshman applicants for certain schools within USC. Either way, it’s going to be a while for us.

@CrownOftheSea

they haven’t updated mine yet either. the admissions office said to wait until the end of this week then call in.

sigh but the waiting is so hard! Lol

@MDG099 … i know! lol its killing me

and btw guys i just got a letter from SC saying “we wanted to let you know some items are still missing from your file.” … and there is a page attached that says “College Transcript”

i guess i’ll call admissions in the morning then

whats weird is that it only says they didn’t get my college transcript, but i sent my high school and college transcript in one big envelope. very strange. :/

oh and one more thing, they spelled “Admission” wrong, they wrote “Admissoin” in the third paragraph of my letter. someone is definitely getting fired.

UPDATE

just called admissions. sigh the guy said to continue to be patient and probably give it another week because it was mailed.

My school refuses to release my official transcript until I pay off my library fines. Poop.

And why are the admission office reps always so happy? Everytimethey pull up my record, gleefully, I get the feeling they just got done laughing at it. :(

Lol^ seriously. Honestly, the admissions office people are great. I expected to wait for 5 hours, then get someone who treats me like I just punched them in the face. But they have been nothing but friendly and helpful. Even on campus, all staff members are always incredibly nice to the students and guests, and take great pride in the school. And that’s much of the reason why I want to go to USC!!! :D

All the admissions people have been really good to me as well.

SIGH I am SO SICK of waiting already! I hate seeing all the freshman running around with their acceptances while we wait for another four months or so :< Sometimes I worry that there will be no transfer spots this year. I know that won’t happen but still…I want it to be summer already

sydneyral-

I’m sure some freshman decide to go somewhere else, and people end up leaving or transferring somewhere else…so thats where room for us comes in?
