No. It is not guaranteed. I said it was similar to a guaranteed admission. Logically speaking, the TTR must have some substance behind it or else they would invite everyone to partake in it. I assume it is open to a few choice applicants. How they pick I do not know.

Basically, you go down. They tell you to take XYZ course. Maintain a good GPA and you’ll have a high chance at admissions.

As for Cornell, they have this program which guarantees admission. Certain applicants are chosen and they are to told take some required courses, maintain a good GPA, etc and when they apply again they will be automatically accepted. That is when you look at their numbers you’ll see a lot of their transfers come from community colleges but that number is certainly skewed.

Mitch - my brother just recently graduated from Marshall and Levanthal and was very involved with helping admissions as well as organizing events for Marshall and such. I think all legacies who are rejected the first time are invited to the TTP. Also, I had a friend who was rejected his senior year, and appealed his rejection twice with admissions. They saw that he wanted to attend USC desperately so they invited him to TTP although he was NOT a legacy.

What is TTP? I assume it has to do with legacy and I have no legacy at USC (I don’t have any family members that went to school west of Ohio) but I saw Cornell mentioned earlier and from james’s post, do you have legacy from your brother?

Because my sister went to Cornell and I applied there from right after HS but I didn’t get in.

I’m just curious.

@james
I would have kept in contact with my counselor, however she does not work at USC anymore, she now works at Claremont Mckenna, hopefully it wont hurt me to much, i have followed the TTP exactly

Right. It seems they have extended it to some applicants outside legacy. Basically, just a select few get the offer to the Trojan Transfer Plan (TTP) for those wondering.

@coolio2244242

It could be that he has the legacy through his brother. As mentioned before, and by the example of @jamesbball911 it does not have to be legacy. USC just extends the invitation to a select few applicants. I do not know how they the process of selection works.

As for Cornell, just because you have legacy doesn’t mean they’ll extend the guaranteed transfer program to you. I would go out and say the same applies to USC. These programs such as Cornell’s are offered to a few applicants who were not accepted as Freshman but demonstrated the capability of excelling at Cornell.

@Pino
I would say a great chance considering your GPA and extracurriculars

I’ve never heard anything about this TTP.

Now I’m worried someone else who wants to transfer into Screenwriting will be in that program, pushing me aside. Damn it! If I get rejected this year will I be invited to TTP? I have non-related family that went.

@transferguy2011, does usc look at grade trends as well?

@Pinoiako916
I would say so, I know that grades are a big deal for USC, are you entering as a junior to USC?

@sydneyral
Don’t worry, I am sure that you will be fine. USC looks at a whole lot of things not if you are only a legacy. An interesting statistic about USC legacies is out of all the freshman admitted last year, only about 14% were legacies, I cannot say I know the same for transfers.

sydneyral- I thought TTP were only for seniors who get rejected outta hs…I could be wrong though…and if you don’t get in keep in mind they only accept a limited amount of transfers into screenwriting

@transferguy2011, Yup transfer from a CCC

california community college
