Thanks hyethga4lyfe for providing that link, I did not know they had a new brochure

To anyone questioning whether or not their supplementary application materials are in, they probably are. They are just super busy. I just called the admissions office yesterday to check on it and they immediately pulled it up. So if you are worried, just call

The best tour is when you know someone who goes to USC and crash there during the weekday when you have no class. 28th street is where its at though =)

coralgirl, what’s your major and what year are you in? I’m sorry if you already answered this, I really don’t want to dig through who knows how many pages to find the answer.

@deltron yes def try and get a hold of someone and ask whatever questions you might have, while your at it ask them to make sure they got everything they need submitted

@mdg industry… when he graduated he was already managing a couple of groups and djs. from what he told me and from what i have gathered thornton is looking for, in your particular emphasis, strong economics performance, so B+ and above in those classes and, and this applies to all the other schools as well, a strong connection to what you want to study. so hopefully you are well immersed in your field already in some form and you stated that in your app

@mitch, its cool! the great thing about cc is that everyone can interact, the bad thing is that a lot of people make assumptions and dont inform themselves the right way. When I applied my counselor actually warned me about cc and encouraged me to ignore the comments posted on here(and when i got there i found out that reading this forum is a big kick for them). Overall the process is not all that cloak and dagger but a lot of people fail to ask the right questions. i dont know everything but the little i do ill try to pass it along. i remember how stressful it was for me to go through the process. on the tier thing, thats actually a process that happens at every college and in fact i found out about it when i applied to NYU and the UC’s and had it described afterwards at SC. by the time your file reaches the admissions committee upwards of a 50 people have handled it and thats because all those people are busy putting you into categories.

@coolio, for the sake of maintaining some semblance of anonymity i will only say that im at viterbi and credit wise i would be considered a junior but as far as major im a sophmore… expect some form of that to happen to you as well, how severe your class drop will be will depend on your major

My favorite part of the tour was obviously seeing the Marshall building I really enjoyed seeing the amount of diversity, and just seeing students in general.

I’ve toured a few other schools around SF and LA, and what has really attracted me to USC is the diversity and the spirit of the student body. Most people I have met at SC have been outgoing and friendly, and most of all very prideful of the school.

Not to mention the library was awesome 9 stories! 5 underground, 4 above ground. It was like walking into the school in the Harry Potter movies.

So I visited the campus this weekend and loved it!! Even though everything was closed practically lol… also a question about the English requirement… there are two classes offered at my school I’m at right now that would help me fulfill that I believe. One is called expository writing and the other is called writing the research paper. Would one of these fulfill the writing requirement do you think? I believe bother are 200 level writing courses offered.

Hi, I have 13 credits completed and 17 in progress right now. I got a 4.0 at a 4 yr university is there any chance i wont get an SGR? also @Coralgirl- How can i communicate with my counselor? I dont know what to say or anything to make myself known. Any suggestions would be awesome!!

Hey guys I’m really sorry if this question was answered already and I missed it in the past 100 pages but do we HAVE to have GE’s done by the time we apply or can they be done during spring semester before fall of transfer?

Hey i have applied to USC-Marshall school of Business for transfer in the fall 2011:
my current gpa is 3.8, i have completed 15 credits currently and will finish another 15 by the end of spring 2011 sem…
what are the other things that they will consider ??
what are my chances of getting in ??

@imjjaee: no, you wont be at a disadavantage I don’t believe just because you haven’t finished all of the GE’s, my counselor told me to fit in as much as possible, but especially if your transfering for a sophomore standing, they know that you can’t start working on ur major reqs and finish all GE’s prior to admission

oh, how about if I’m a junior? My counselor kind of screwed me by telling me that Applied Calculus should be fine for pre-meds and biological science majors, but USC wants calc w/ trig. So I’m trying to fit all the GE’s with major prereqs and have like 20 credits during summer, fall, and next spring each. (I know calc isnt GE, but I think it’d be so much better to get math out of the way quick before I forget something)

Will it be ok if I finish most GEs and prereqs by end of spring or do I have to have them by application time?

Had a dream about walking to my mailbox and pulling a large envelope out of the mail. Then this song started playing in the background. I hope that really happens. Music and all.
