I've been drinking some hard apple cider for the last half-an-hour or so, which is probably why I'm even having this discussion.

m.kenien - Yes, I realized. The message was directed at Sachmoney, who is apparently from Boston.

But USC is in the US. The people who work in admissions are also probably in the US...so they probably share a view with us.

yes...Sachmoney...thats why i am going to inform them...

thanks for ur opinion...lads

I AM from Boston. Not apparently. I go to school in Cleveland though...for another week and a half. :)

For the record, but not that it really matters in regards to this thread, I'm female.

Sachmoney - Yeah, I should have guessed that seeing as though you're not just from "Boston", you're from "BOSTON" :P

Sachmoney Mapletree...

I think i shud have chosen the word "scrupulous"

meaning(s):
diligent, thorough, and attentive to details.
very concerned to avoid doing wrong.

Mapletree, why don't you try to conform?

Don't you want to be very concerned with doing right? instead of avoiding doing wrong?

wow this thread really took a weird turn.

Had to expect it, Scor. it's 3:25 AM out here. nothing good ever comes out at 3:25 am. Like Dave Chappelle somewhat said, "when is the last time you've ever taken $400 out at 3:00 AM for something positive?"

I would, stewart, but as you can see from the first page of this thread, I'm neurotic and anal-retentive.

stewart- that's so true. i should have made that my favorite quote when i applied last year.

and just for the record, i'm on the conformist typically has a negative connotation side

Scrupulous is better, but I have to direct you to the urbandictionary definiton which REALLY is completely incorrect, albeit funny:

scrupulous

A twin of monkeys that screw each other

Eg. "I went to the zoo and found that monkeys are very active"

mapletree, I was going to guess you were female, but I was hoping you would speak up about it because I didn't want to be wrong either way. I feel like anal-retentive should have other meanings.

The word anal-retentive certainly piques the imagination, doesn't it?

Yes, mine went wild.

That is until I looked it up, hoping for more meanings.

conformist?

you're bound for rejection!

That's not true SexyKoreanGirl.

Though it definitely warranted a double-take for me. It's not exactly a positive attribute. He could have found something...better to convey the same thing in a less "bleuh" way.

i have never in my life heard conformist in a positive way. honeslty one of two things is going to happen...
1. they're going to be confused as to why you consider yourself as having a negative attribute
2. they're going to think you dont understand english well

hopefully they wont care too much about it

milkdud... the way you use conformist is absolutely wrong....

a conformist by any definition is a person who follows the social conventions...

the word is wrongly used in US... but I will clarify it on Monday.
