I'm planning to transfer as a junior next fall, I'll have an A.A. (60+ credits) from a Washington state C.C. My GPA's a 3.97. Could I consider USC a safety, or at least a very comfortable match?

Thanks.

By no means with those quantitative stats alone. You need a high degree of extra curricular and community involvement. USC is pretty selective and they frequently reject students with good grades but little else to distinguish them. What other things of interest can you put on your application?

So you've been going to a community college the past few years, right? I'd say that USC is pretty much a safety/really good match for you. I think amazon3001 might have assumed that you were a high school student who took CC classes on the side. For your CC GPA, I'd say that's very good. By all means, do apply!

Yeah, I've been out of high school for a while now. I figured I was in pretty good shape for USC, just making sure there are no surprises. Thanks for the input.

you're fine. Just apply!

It also depends on your major. For majors like film, music, architecture, or art, stats are only a small portion of the picture.
