Werty- Would you mind posting that link to last March’s acceptances?

I have been trying to locate it. I didn’t save it.

Here itis: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-southern-california/642272-stats-only-usc-decisons-2009-a-9.html?highlight=stats+2009+decisions From page 9 on are all acceptances AFTER March 20th, so there are many more acceptances to come.

Good luck!!!

also if you read last yr’s blog from admission director, decisions were released earlier. so i say we still have hope all the way to 4/1. i am quite confident that the big wave is not out yet.

Werty: Do counselors get notifications from USC re: our status?

I don’t think so. I think it is just by students telling her or by going into their Naviance account and updating their admitted status. I went to our school’s naviance site for USC. No one has updated since that last big wave, so I am almost certain that the big wave is coming this week.
Only 1 person has indicated that they were admitted in the last wave. So, that give me hope.

My counselor told me that students she has known who have appealed have been successful. So, my plan is to appeal if I am rejected. Although, I hope that I am NOT rejected. I was accepted into the Honors prgram at another school with $27k in scholarship money. The program comes with lots of perks. My mom asked me if I wanted to be at the top of the heap at the other school or the bottom of th eheap at USC. I said “the bottom of the heap at USC!!!”

werty - “bottom of the heap at USC”

absoluteeeely man. my parents asked me the same question - go trojans!

Alamemom-Thanks a bunch for that link. It gives us more hope, I think. I’m also wondering…since my D was not offered one of the big scholarships early on (assuming she is accepted), what are the chances that she’d receive any MERIT help other than loans etc?

Thank you,

Hi tokdoc - I am not sure about the merit chances. Many students have posted during April that they received departmental scholarships, but I have no idea what percentage that might represent. I have a theory that it helps to wait to submit your commitment deposit until April 30th - they don’t need to offer any merit to students who have already committed to the school! (That is a personal thoery not supported by any evidence at all!)

@werty & calibound

Just because you guys haven’t been accepted YET doesn’t indicate you’d be “at the bottom of the heap at USC.” Come on guys, have some faith! And remember that this is CC afterall…a small group out of the huge applicant pool.

Yea yea yea, i got my acceptance last monday, i think the 15th, but im in arizona

I just checked and I am still at forwarded. Did any of you apply to UCSB? They post the acceptances online today at 4PM PST. I really wish USC had done something similiar. It would have alleviated alot of angst.

Hoping for that fatty envelope from USC when I get home from school today.

I went to Explore on Saturday for one of my safe schools and I definitely am NOT going there.

i applied to ucsb
i think that if usc posted decisions at once, there would probably be global uproar… haha the rejects furious and the acceptances going absolutely nuts…

and a fat envelope has never sounded soooo good.

any news today???
anyone?

Nothing in the mail …again…here in So Cal.

same as tokdoc, nothing in the mail, in socal.

My son was accepted to the school of cinematic studies. He’d probably post a note himself, but he’s too happy to come back down to earth…

I got my acceptance packet on the 13th… Look for a big envelope in the mail! The rest should be sent out soon.
Good luck; I hope you get in!

bummer…

I could not bear to go to the mailbox. My brother (home from college on spring break) went for me. He has always been lucky. So, he walks back with a big white envelope. I can hardly stand it! THEN…it is from another school that I applied to, NOT USC! :(

So, nothing for me today. At 4PM, I will find out about UCSB.

Anyone else heard anything???
