USC Acceptance Letters

What do USC acceptance letters look like? Are they a simple envelope with a letter telling you you got in or some extravagant packet? Approximately when should they come? Do rejections get sent at the same time as acceptances? I am so anxious to get my decision!

Its a large envelope with a folder inside. In the folder is the letter, a certificate, a housing brochure and some other brochures.

The acceptance 'letter' is actually in a folder. They come in a considerably thick white envelope. The front cover of the folder has a giant USC logo on it and reads 'Welcome to the Trojan Family'. Inside, the certificate of admission is displayed. On the other side of the folder, there is a dated congratulatory letter from the office of admissions, along with some brochures (Housing, etc). An acceptance is pretty well presented, IMO. I wouldn't call it 'extravagant', but it definitely serves its purpose.

Last year, acceptances were mailed at different times starting late Jan. or early Feb. for the big scholarship interviews, then continue through March. On this forum, people said rejections were last (April). The waiting period is very hard. I think you have until early April for acceptances.

Spring admits were also notified in April.

USC's acceptance packet sounds amazing! Now if I don't get one it's really going to hurt...

If you haven't received an acceptance by now you will most likely get it within this month. April is usually reserved for rejections (I think).

Oh goodness, reading the description of those packets just legitimately gave me butterflies.

I really really hope I get in now, hahah

ycang....i sure hope so :)

kay i really want one of these acceptance folders!!!!!!!!!

I know how you guys feel, I got my acceptance in early March last year w/o scholarship. This year, I got the admit with the Deans in late Jan so there's definitely a correlation between the letter's date and the result, be it accepted with scholarship, acceptance without scholarship or a rejection.

My oldest daughter was accepted to USC four years ago - so I'm sure the packages have changed - but it was the best one she got. The outside envelope had a very BIG "You're IN" printed on the front. Then the inside package was very impressive. She received it in March (no scholarship). She did attend USC, graduated, loved EVERY minute and wishes she were back. Now we are waiting on word for the younger sister. An agonizing process!

I don't remember the "You're In", but there was a big gold stripe on the envelope. The acceptance letter from the President was very cool.

ycang, what do you mean that you got your acceptance last year? and your admit this year? I'm a bit confused.

has anyone received an admission letter yet?!

iskander- Students who received merit scholarships or other special circumstances have received admissions letters-

More acceptances will trickle out this month through the beginning of April. Rejections will come out only at the very end- the first week of April.

bmom: sorry I didn't clarify my situation, it must have left you wondering what happened to me. aha!

Well here it is.. I am international and my country requires us boys to serve in the military for two years, so I applied last year and got admitted to SC. However, I only found out about their no-deferral policy after I got admitted, which is different from the local unis in my country where we can defer and keep our offer for two years. Thankfully SC allowed me to reapply this year without actually having to send anything in, as they held on to my entire application package and all the materials I sent in Dec 2007. So they basically reevaluated my app this year and accepted me again :)

thanks for explaining, ycang, and congrats again since it worked out better this year with the scholarship. =)

Yes I'm really grateful for that, seeing that I wasn't even in with a shot last year cause I only submitted my app really late :S

were you a transfer student? or freshman? I’m a transfer and I’m anxious to know when i will get their letter.
