USC admission question

USC doesn't require SAT subject tests?

Also does USC look at only look at Unweighted GPA or do they also look at Weighted GPA?

Yes, USC does not require SAT subject tests.

They do not look at weighted GPA because every school calculates it differently. They look at unweighted GPA but in conjunction with classes taken.

not taking the subject tests will probably hurt you though because most other people take it. colleges want to see you take the opportunities given to you.

yes, SAT IIs are definitely helpful. i wish i had taken some.

that said, i was accepted and offered an interview for presidential scholarship (4.0 uw and 33 act). i did not take any subject tests.

It's better to go ahead and take the SAT subject tests. Besides, you probably have to take them for many other colleges anyways. For example, UC schools all require them.

Many colleges let you substitute the ACT for SAT subject test. At Ivy League Penn for example they require the SAT 1 and (2) SAT 2 tests OR the ACT only. My son did not take SAT subject tests as many of his schools did this.

Kind of interesting....I am not sure of USC and the ACT loophole

Ok .

what percentage or fraction American Indian does one have to be to mark it as their ethnicity on their applciation. someone told me only 1/32 American Indian would suffice.

bump bump bump. yeah b2k.

For what it's worth, USC requires homeschooled applicants to submit 3 SAT subject test scores.

caliboi- I had always heard it was 1/16. Try calling a random school and ask the admissions officer.

I also believe it is 1/16 to be considered a Native American. And most ask you to provide proof of tribe membership. So, you can't just check that box to give yourself a boost. My friend tried to do that. Then they called and asked him to send in proof of tribe membership. I laughed at him for a long time after that happened.
