USC Admitted Transfer Students 2008

WOT - Thanks. Strangely, I don’t see any “RA Living Agreement” Form on the USC Housing website.

And, by the way, do you mean that you didn’t get that notice on the online application or on the Word document? You should have gotten an e-mail from USC Housing saying that your housing assignment is ready. But, in that e-mail, there should be a Word Document attachment with all the steps to take. If you got that, would you mind checking to see if you also got that contract notice, like I did? Thanks!

I didn’t get the message to sign any RA Living Agreement. Let me double check…

when should we be able to see which courses transferred and what not on Oasis?

iamtheggman - send in your final transcripts so they can evaluate everything. I sent in my final transcript about two weeks ago and i still cannot see which courses transfered. I am going to call them up tomorrow and see, so I don’t have to take the math placement test.

Do you guys know what the process is to declare a minor?

anyone who takes the math placement test online feel like helping the rest of us out and posting the questions? . . . . lol

No offence, but it’s really not that hard of a test! You shouldn’t have a problem with it, even if you haven’t done math in a while.

WOT-you have to petition each department for a minor. contact the department you plan to pursue a minor in and they will give you the steps to pursue it.

ksbr27- Thanks. Will do. :)

heh I’m not too worried it’s just that I NEED to place high enough. If I don’t place at a point where I can take business calculus means I can’t get into marshall for my junior year which means another $38,000 for tuition for an extra year =P

I didn’t see any classes or majors that applied to me for math placement, so I skipped it.
For language it says transfers are not eligible to take it online but I know I need to have done through the 3rd semester for my major, so maybe I’ll have to take it @ orientation or some later date. (?)

So do engineering students have to take the math placement as well? I’m guessing they do, but I’m already transferring in classes like Calculus and Differential Equations.. it just seems as if the math placement is a little bit premature for me to take at this point.

hi everyone… i was admitted end of last week and i’ve already seen my fin aid package. :)

did you guys really wait 7 days to sign up for orientation?
and have any of you heard about housing? if so, how long did it take? i applied back in february.

sc08hopeful - if you dont mind saying… did you receive good financial aid??

I received an amazing financial aid package, including a University Grant for 91% of tuition. To be blunt though, I come from a poor family… so I’m at a high level of “need” (though I was completely willing to go $100K in debt for SC.. I’m glad I don’t have to!)

sc08hopeful: That’s great! Now you only have to go into a little debt. :P

WOT- You were right about waiting a long time for registering for orientation because I registered for my email account on Friday the 13th and I still haven’t received an email regarding my login information :(

Also, how long did it take for your financial aid package to appear after you got admitted?

i was sent an e-mail regarding orientation a day after submitting my deposit but a day prior to establishing my email… did anyone wait the 7 days (per the orientation website?)

I got the orientation email too a day after submitting my deposit but that’s it.
