USC Admitted Transfer Students 2008

WOT- lol, yeah I’m probably too ahead of myself.

Comm offers a great study abroad program. If I had to choose which I would choose a semester in London, they visit other places including Stonehenge and Paris. = )

Question about the MOVE IN DAY. Do we have to come on the 20th, or can we come later? I may want to move in on the 21st, which is a thursday. Does anyone know if we can?

Yep, I’m a sophomore. It depends on my major, but if I get into Comm I want to do the semester in London or New Zealand.

sc08hopeful- I know what you mean. I really want my minor and in order to do so and graduate on time I need to take 5 classes a semester. That’s really kind of worrying me though. Just getting used to everything that first semester is both crazy and exciting. :)

cabrooks-LOL that we’re both at least considering changing our majors. sorry french  if i do change i’ll probably still minor in it though.

we pick up the spirit boxes at orientation, right? i’m excited to present my dad with one when i see him a few days after orientation!

FINALLY! My STARS report has been updated.

I didn’t order a spirit box. :-[ My mom didn’t want to pay for a t-shirt and some information papers that “we could always find somewhere else.”

ksbr27- Oh can we? I heard we were supossed to pick them up move-in day? & then after that for whoever isn’t living @ USC.

cabrooks- Yeah, mine too, everything transfers. I did pretty pathetically this semester, considering I got B’s in health classes -_- so my GPA took a dip.

$20 for a shirt is still cheaper than any shirt in the bookstore, lol. :stuck_out_tongue: I was thinking about getting another shirt and then I was like, meh, it’s cheaper to get this package with pens and the shirt and random goodies.

I’ll be getting my sweater once it gets cold, though. :)

Does anyone know if we have to come exactly on move in day, or can we come a day later?

oh so the spirit box comes with other little goodies too! I wonder if I can still order one…heck I’ll pay for it..lol

hey guys, so I just got accepted yesterday and now I’m filling out this housing application thing

The thing is, I have no idea what to put down for my 5 preferences, what did you guys put?

okay new question, for the housing application I’m on step 4, which is roommates. Is it mandatory that I request roommates or whatever, or can I just stop here and wait for the notification to continue on step 5?

Please help! :(

kevl89- It depends. If you want to be literally on campus, spaces for upperclassmen are more limited. (Webb Tower or Parkside)

These are the options for Transfer Students and Upperclassmen
[USC Auxiliary Services Housing](http://housing.usc.edu/housingOptions/whereToLiveTFRCON.aspx)

And this is the map showing you where each building is located relative to campus.
[USC Auxiliary Service Housing – Map](http://housing.usc.edu/building/map/Map.html?=IRC)

kevl89: no. u don’t necessarily have to request a room mate. However, if u know someone u can auto-request with his/her student ID. Stop @ Room step. They will contact you as soon as they assign u the building.

Woman.Of.Troy: I filled in my application last week and I just got Parkside assigned. So, I am not sure if its hard to get in to these apartments. By the way, Parkside apt. seem to be the nicest compared to the rest. Specially…coz its international…it will be exciting to meet different ppl.

I also think getting your preferred housing depends on the sex. Maybe, there was an open room for females, but not males.

sunsetsam: i m a male.

WOT-oh man, I thought we got them at orientation! well I guess I can wait…

Bonsieur - Your lucky then! I am a male and PKS was my very very first choice.

sunsetsam- Yeah, Parkside fills up quickly because it houses a lot of freshmen. So spaces are that much more limited there.

Woman.Of.Troy: according tot he USC Housing package “spaces are limited for freshmen” @ Parkside.

there are two other buildings at parkside-IRC and arts/humanities, which are freshman. parkside apartments are mostly continuing and transfer with some freshman.
