ive taken calculus already but i placed into math 118 or 125…its been about a year since doing math. i really hope i dont have to retake calculus…would my transcript override my score?

sunsetsam-thanks for that tip! i just looked and they updated some of my courses. my french IV is still not coding right but i think that has everything to do with advisement/clearance…not like that’s going to help now since i’m transferring to theatre, but it’ll help down the road when we do minors.

fight_on, are you a major that requires math placement?

how can we see what classes are available to sign up for? and what does “advisement for english” mean? Thanks!

iamtheeggman- go to the schedule or here https://camel.usc.edu/webreg/Login.asp?logout=1

advisement for english-there’s a hold on your account and you will not be able to register for classes until you meet with the advisor. you’re an english major and you need to talk to someone about major reqs, graduation reqs, etc., this will happen @ orientation, btw.

i can’t go to orientation…i live in maryland
haha i had to do a “send materials” thing…

ksbr: yeah im a business major…i got an A in calculus too lol im hoping i dont have to retake it. do you have any info on this situation?

iamtheggman- In that case you get to register for classes July 26th, I believe. Sorry. :(

What am I supposed to do now that I’ve confirmed my enrollment?

iamtheeggman, I am from Virginia. I am just going there for two days, Monday + Tuesday, taking my flight back home on the same day as orientation, Tuesday night. My mom really wants to see the school before she “lets me go”. LOL but yeah, it did bust a mark in my wallet. :[

How should I list my housing options this late in the game?
I’m not too picky about where I live, I just want to get my hands on some university-owned apartments on or off campus.

sooooo i think i might have read somewhere that there is no more university housing for transfer students. is that correct? i’m a sophomore transfer and am wondering if sophomores are guaranteed housing or anything like that. thanks!

yeah, i get to register last, fun!
i already paid the money to visit the school, can’t go twice! haha

fight_on, i honestly have no idea since both majors i’m in (the one currently and the one i’m transferring to) don’t need math even though i took it for IGETC, so i guess call and ask?

holdfasttodreams and bluecrewchris, i know MOST USC-owned housing is full, but call them and still apply-they may be able to put y’all somewhere.

Has anyone got any of their courses transferred into the Social Issues category of the Gen. Ed. Requirements? I would assume that sociology would transfer into that, but…It didn’t. I only have 3 fulfilled form the six categories.

sunsetsam- There are two GE’s that we MUST take @ USC. Categories IV & VI.

eh… USC only gave me credit for 2 geneds out of the 6 I took at my previous university. Got those 2 and my writing requirement… Needless to say I’m fairly behind

Yea I don’t get it they didn’t give me credit on the report for Categories I and II even though i took courses in those at my CC to fulfill both…lame.

I’ll ask about it at orientation.

lreds4life-You should. Doing so and receiving the credit will save you both time and money.

Hey, did any of you guys recieve a cal grant award? I sent in the certification form right when I got it, but it still says “pending certification form.” Does any one else still have that?

strawberryjam- I just went and checked my cal grant and it finally lets me do the school change. Apparently the awadr should show up in mid-july.
