I’m taking out a good deal in loans as well, but my EFC is compartively high. Are you taking out $17,000 a year, a semester, or for your whole time at USC? If you have an EFC of zero, I find it hard to believe that you will have to take out that much in loans.

FYI if you go to the Nike website they have a lot of USC stuff on clearance for both men and women. If you look under the last chance section.

I had an EFC of 0 and would have only had to take out 9,000 in loans for both semesters

Wow caligurl, you’re so lucky … I sometimes feel that it’s unfair the way they assess financial aid. Like for me personally, I think that USC bumped up my family’s contribution to a higher category then they should have. I’m not looking for a pity party or anything, but I’m just trying to say that paying 9,000 a year for a USC education is totally worth it, and probably even cheaper than what most people pay to go to state schools.

RelientK - thats 17000 for 1 year in loans. I m an NY resident so I didn’t get Cal grant but 17000 is still too much given I have to stay at this school for about 3.5 years even though I am transferring in with 64 credits but I will be triple majoring so thats why it will take so long.

Is that too much?

ksbr27 and idioteque: i need to obtain a parking permit as well, i didn’t realize you had to choose a specific lot haha, but that’s fine i guess.

POSC 130g-law, politics, and public policy (I’m probably taking this class as well it looks interesting…plus it still has room in it)

To me $17,000 year in loans is too much, ESPECIALLY if your EFC is 0.

My EFC is $12,000 and I will have to take out an additional $9k a year (part of FA package) to pay for USC, so me and my family will basically be paying $21k a year out of a $52k budget…

Your package seems high to me. Mind posting all the info like they have it on the website ?

And I hear ya by the way… I’m still debating pretty hard whether USC is worth $21k a year for me…

RijeosXeper

Annual Award Amounts

Current Award Amount

Estimated Federal Pell Grant $4,731
Federal SEOG Grant $1,200
University Grant $29,595
Federal Perkins Loan $2,500
Subsidized Federal Stafford Loan $5,500
Unsubsidized Federal Stafford Loan $2,000
Federal Work-Study $3,000
Total $48,526

The difference between your USC estimated cost of attendance (shown below) and your total financial aid eligibility is ** $3,592 **

So I have to pay all those loans + 3592 = about 17000

anyone find out how we can get season tickets for football?

fight_on-they will email you once you’ve done orientation with a week-long window and a PIN that you register.

On my admit letter they listed my class level as sophomore…do they mean my current class level or my class level in the fall. I’m a junior.

Also, is there a unit cap at USC? Like there is at UCLA?

tuition covers 18 units. Your schedule will probably fill up 16 units leaving 2 units free to take some easy, interest oriented classes.

After 18 units the cost is $1,100 a unit. So if you wanted to take five 4-unit classes it would cost you an additional $2,200 (20 units)

i did a fafsa and a css profile but i did not fax over my tax returns…what should i do now? I mean will they give me no aid now??

thats weird, transfer students cant take the online foreign language placement exam?

oh, and do I have to submit a picture for the USCard or can I do that at orientation

you can do it at orientation…two people in front of me just did it there. whatever makes it easy for you.

has anyone from 7-1 orientation received an email from SC about the tickets? Also I was hearing about post-orientation homework. How do you go about doing those tasks?

Does anyone know when I can log into myUSC account? I already have created my e-mail account and according to the ITS web page the same User name and Password suppose to wok, but … anyone?

UNSMC- You should be able to do it immediately.

yeah, it is not working. I can log into e-mail though. This is why it is strange.

Thanks anyway. :)

About how many days after being accepted did your guys financial aid awards
