USC Admitted Transfer Students 2008

Tones- 3 days for me.

P.s. Everyone else dealing with the Cal Grant: My school change is finally complete but the online site says I’ll be living with my parents. I want to change it to ON-Campus so that my fin. aid is recalculated correctly, how do I do this? Or should I just call? Thanks.

I have a 1000efc, how much aid would usc give me? It is weird I just got the acceptance form for usc marshall today. I already accepted ucla’s offer of admission and am going there but still would be interested in how much usc would give me.

I did not think I was getting into usc because I never submitted the marshall supplemental application and usc also sent me a request for spring transcripts before they could make a final decision, I did not do so hot my spring semester so I just figured I would not do it. Today I got the acceptance packet and it said please disregard all previous notices. Weird huh.

Strange year for me, I got into berkeley without doing any of the requirements for the major. I only have around a 3.5gpa but I guess wrote a killer essay??

Hello, all! Welcome to USC! I just thought I’d throw this post out there in case anyone is still in need of housing for next year.

I currently have a single space reserved in Parkside International Suites (on-campus). The room is in a suite with 6 other girls, and there are 2 bathrooms in the suite. I need to get out of my contract ASAP, so please let me know if you’re interested or have any questions. I lived in this building as a freshman two years ago, and I was a Resident Advisor in the Parkside Area last year, so I have a lot of information about Parkside or Housing in general if you have any questions! Please let me know if you’re interested!

Tones - I received my financial aid package today, July 7th. I was accepted on June 20th.

hey guys, in order to be considered a junior transfer do you have to have 60 units and over or is it 64 units and over?

so between 3 and 17 days…lol. hopefully its 3
is anybody else already receiving a cal grant and and
having it transferred to usc?

strawberyjam- 64 units and over=Junior standing

jonnybravo- A lot. & if you weren’t planning on living on campus, even more.

Tones- Yes, me. I was automatically eligible according to the online cal grant site, BUT it says I’m living @ home when in truth I’m living on campus, so I need to change that detail as well.

Thanks WOT! goddamit I only have 60 units. lol. does that mean after fall semester I would suddenly be a junior?! -_-

Anything good about Flour Tower?

strawberryjam- Yep, you only need one more class to be a junior. If you want to graduate on time (2 years) you will have to take one extra class one of these semesters just to get your unit count right. Perhaps you can even take a class over summer. I just submitted my final grades so my STARS report needs to be updated as well. As of now, I’m a sophomore with 49.5 units. After I should have 69- but only 64 max transfer. :)

BlueCrewChris- It’s on campus. Super convenient. BUT it’s like an option b/w an 8 person suite or a single. Those are the choices, I think.

Is anybody else having trouble switching their CalGrant awards to SC? It won’t let me access the 08-09 school year.

Please help!

Do I have to fill out a GPA verification before I’m able to transfer my CalGrant award?

If that’s the case do I go to my Community College?

BlueCrewChris- Yes. Usually the community colleges do it automatically. Call your CCC’s financial aid office and ask if they did it already.

Where do I find out what my online PIN is?
I’m trying to buy USC football tickets..

BlueCrewChirs- you should get an email that will tell you your pin number. I only got the email today, so don’t worry if you still haven’t gotten one yet. You’ll probably get one soon.

relientk - did u go to the july 1 orientation???

hey guys, I have question. If I do reassignment now and send in the deposit of 400, if they are unable to find housing I requested would I get a refund of the deposite? Thanks in advanced guys.

quick question about financial aid

so I have to send in some final documentation before they can give me my package and they required 2008-2009 parent business/farm supplement. problem is, parents dont own anything, so do I still fill this out and fax it? did you guys have to do this as well?

strawberryjam- You must accept your assignment by paying the $400 and then you can ask for reassignment. If you reassignment doesn’t go through then you jave to stick with what you were given, although there is a deadline if you want to cancel the housing altogteher. Sorry, I don’t remember when it is but it’s on the housing website. & no refund deposit is given as far as I know, sorry. :/

kevl89-Just write NA on it and send it in. You don’t want to lag the process any longer. :)

nykn- I actually did not go to orientation on the 1st. I informed them that I would not be attending orientation at all. I did read somewhere that they send out the email after attending orientation.
