Sorry if this was already discussed, but about how many days does it take to hear back from housing once you submitted your housing app?

RelientK- Lucky! Mine is a bit far but at least I got something. I wonder what the likelihood of getting changed is…

For those who received housing already, when did you apply? I thought I applied rather early…Hmm

fight_on1: I payed/submitted my app. Sunday I think.

I got housing too!

“You have been assigned to Honors House in a DBLE”

does anyone know when the contract due date is? thing is i’m not sure i’m going to live on campus and would like more time to think.

Didn’t get the e-mail, but checked the housing application… not bad at all. Figured it would be a lot worse.

idioteque-hope you like vegetarian food, since that’s a veggie house.

Ksbr- Haha yea… I know :-. I don’t mind veggie food, as long as it’s not nasty. Gotta get a little protein somewhere in my diet though, so luckily I have car and won’t be stuck at the house. But it’s cool because it has a parking spot and communal area with a pool table, etc. It’s REALLY cheap too ~$2,300/semester. I’m hoping that price isn’t an indicator of quality, but either way, I’m going to check it out tomorrow. :)

“Students who prefer eating vegetarian should consider living in Honors House. The residents of this close community have a special, required meal plan that enables them to share vegetarian breakfasts and dinners (a meat dish is usually available at dinner) in the dining room, which is decorated with a large mural. Honors House features a stately library–a quiet and pleasant retreat for study and contemplation. Facilities include a large common area, pool table, television, and a DVD player set up for large-screen viewing. Honors House is an easy 10-minute walk to campus and has a handy tram stop across the street. Limited parking in the building’s gated garage and carport is available.”

I’m in Sierra…haven’t heard anything about it. Pretty excited though!!!

idioteque-i looked and for a double, it looks pretty nice, plus it’s closer to the freeway so you can just hop on pretty quickly. are you going to try and get reassigned or are you happy there?

all this housing talk makes me wish that i was able to do housing. i’m kind of glad i didn’t though-i would be a HORRIBLE roommate and it’s kind of logistically impossible for me to do.

Mine is farther than I would have hoped for and with 3 other people.
But I’m glad I got a spot, I was getting worried for a sec. I’m not sure it’s worth it to ask for a reassignment alhtough I know if I did, I have to accept the original assignment anyway.

Isaac- The attachment says we have until the 16th. I’m assuming that after then, whomever declines their offer and leaves a space open, those spots will go to the transfers that were admitted late or be given to the people who wish to get reassigned.

a la idiotque- HH is still kinda far too but at least its just you and one other person. The roommate they gave me is the same age as I am and the girls in the other room are actually a few years older, so maybe that’s a good thing? :p

Wow. My Housing is so FAR AWAY (WOT I got the same housing as you). How do you find out your roommate? Like, I didn’t get an email, but when I went to my application it said FSA - Room # B1?

i was wondering if any of you could answer my question.

i applied as a transfer to usc fall 08 and i’m waiting for my letter…should be coming monday! its really nervewracking waiting. it’s been a long process; i had to send in the spring grades packet, and after a week, the status changed to “the committee has taken action…in mail…we will be happy to release decision over the phone after june 11.” i am overnanalyzing and HOPING that they would not be “happy” to release rejections over the phone…

question… did y’all get a big or small letter? and did your status say the same thing on your pages? it’s probably generic… i am so anxious.

How do we view who we got assigned to for roommates? I tried clicking the roommate tab in the application but the link was disabled. I hope I got assigned to someone my own age and not a freshman.

sunsetsam- Yeah log onto the application and all it says is the username and the profile and room. Nothing too specific, until you accept, of course. The profile states their preferences and their ages.

^ yea, and you can also message your roommates if you choose. I already added a couple of them on facebook.

I need some input:
So I wanted to request a roommate, and I was going to do it last night but when I came home I had already received an assignment with some random person. Apparently, the girl I wanted to request got the same building as I did, so if we ask for a reassignment requesting each other, will it be easier to have it granted since we’re in the same building? Thanks for your thoughts in advance. Fight on! woot, lol. :)

got a prelim transfer credit report in the mail today. they are going ahead and counting my UCLA credits from when i took a theatre intensive for credit in HS, so i already have two majors’ pre-reqs done. haaaaaaay!

WOT-i have no idea on that, but i would try since you all are in the same building!
(and for those commuting off campus from the valley, i tried it today and it’s VERY manageable. SO excited!!! i bought the whole bookstore, practically. ask WOT and idioteque ;))

To ksbr27,

Where is the valley?
Glad to hear you bought the whole bookstore! lol…
Care to share with us what are the things you bought?
