gabong-the san fernando valley (i.e. studio city/sherman oaks/north hollywood/burbank/glendale/west pasadena). very manageable-the 110 never goes over 30, so even for those wary of downtown traffic, it’s quite easy!

LOL HERE WE GO (WOT can vouch for everything i’ve bought):
license plate frame, a decal for my car, a USC teddy bear, flip flops, a mug, a tumbler, a USC MOM shirt [obv. for the mom, requested by her], three pairs of sweatpants, three shirts, and two sweatshirts. yessssss. i eyed some father’s day gifts as well, so i will be going back to old 'SC very soon.

PS-for everyone planning classes, if you are going to have some quick transitions (i.e. 10 minutes between classes), taper and VKC are well within 10 minutes of each other (more like 5), so keep that in mind.

The transit is NOT 24 hours right? Oi, I am going to have a hard time finding a way back home at 3 am in the morning.

EDIT: Did any of you guys notice the new STARS application on Oasis, its called, STARS Interactive Audit Report. I still can’t see my STARS, they got my final transcript on Thursday.

hey i didnt get an email yet but i checked the housing website and it said i was assigned to FSA (Founders) … anyone else get assigned there or know anything about the building???

one of my friends really wants on campus housing as a transfer. im guessing the chances of her getting it is pretty low, am i right? did you all rank your choices on the form?

wing2871x-Yes, the chances of obtaining an on campus housing assignment are small. I listed two on campus buildings as my first and second preferences and 3 right across the street and didn’t get any of those. But maybe there is enough room for your friend to still get something. I like the comfort of knowing that the monthly bills will include all the uitilities unlike private housing.

ah. well thanks for the info. i think she originally thought that there were alot of buildings on campus for transfers. i think most of them are freshmen, right? how many on campus can transfers actually be considered for?

still wondering how long it takes them to send or tell you your financial aid? I sent everything in on june 4th (i was missing one effin paper) so do you think it will take a week or so?

lists all the housing available to transfer/undergrads. Most are close to campus with USC tram stops really close. Parkside seems like the only one available on campus, but I’ve heard is extremely popular/hard to get.

Sunsetsam- I see your an arch transfer too!!! So you got accepted into the transfer summer?! Did they tell you in your initial letter? I got accepted as a first year, and after a lot of contemplation I think its the right choice for me to stick it out for 5 yrs I totally agree on the studio thing, we are the rare ones that have to be on campus till the wee hours…eeek

Does anyone know if orientation includes a department specific intro to your major?

nope not yet. I am actually kind of irritated that we have to. I have taken vector calculus and honors English, and now they expect me to go backwards?

OK. SO i got off the phone with the orientation department, asking about the placement exam. The person on the phone said, you take the placement exam if you NEED TO. Then I asked her how do we know if we need to take the placement exam then, then she said you have to contact your major’s department. So everyone, I suggest you first email your major’s department; who ever handles the admissions process over there, and ask them if you need to take it. I don’t think none of us want to fall into a trap of taking a placement exam when we clearly have the pre-reqs and GE’s all done! Good Luck Everyone!

If you register for orientation you NEED to take the placement tests in order to progress through the steps. If you dont complete the tests you cant complete the orientation registration (you can dont t register for classes if you complete all of the steps and the steps can only be completed in order)

sunsetsam-omg I so wish we could do that, but like solomonm said, we have to complete it in order to progress through the steps. I even tried calling my major’s dept and it seemed like they wanted us to take it anyways.
