USC Admitted Transfer Students 2008

I just called, they said there was still housing available for the transfer students…

ughhhh i hope so. I’m way too impatient. The housing packet says on the timeline “July 1st Last day for new students to cancel with $400 refund”

Assuming we get our assignment by then.

Cali06- I don’t have a facebook account but I’m going to create one ASAP. If I don’t get housing from USC, then this is probably my backup:
[CONQUEST HOUSING](CONQUEST HOUSING)

I hope there is housing left, that would be such a relief.

i applied for usc housing just in case there were spaces left, and after i did i received email confirmation that usc housing received my app, BUT when I logged back into TrojanHousing, it says that I applied 6/11, but then right under it, it says “Not Complete”. Does that mean I’m missing some stuff? Or it’s not complete because I haven’t been assigned a room yet?
Like, on my Application Menu, steps 2, 4, and 5 are still blue. and I can access those steps. while the rest are gray and completed, except for steps 6 and on, which requires that the previous steps to be completed…
sooo im really confused. I don’t want to find out later on that I never finished my housing app so that’s why I didn’t get housing .. -___-
can anyone help me?

and yeah, I’ve been looking at Conquest Housing too in case I can’t get USC housing.

Solomonm - did you just get the apt by yourself? or did you get it with a roommate? cause i’m scared of getting an entire apt or whatever and then not finding anyone to share the rent with me, haha cause its pretty pricey…

it says incomplete because you haven’t completed the other steps. once you have been assigned a room then from there you should be able to complete it

I found a roommate. No way I could afford it without one =P

Conquest does offer 1bedroom apartments and studios. I would set it up quick. I got one of the last 2 bedroom apartments so I’m not sure what they still have left

ok i’m super confused…how do you register for the school e-mail account?

Cabrooks, This is where you activate your e-mail account

https://secweb.usc.edu/cgi-local/firstlogin/showform?form=activate

oooohhhh… thanks again.

I got accepted to Marshall yesterday. What do I do about housing now? What is that apartment complex called with the Chipotle on the ground floor? I really need to find housing badly, and I don’t want to commute to the campus. Is it too late to get into a dorm?

That complex is tuscany

As far as I know it was completely booked a couple months back (it’s the most popular choice through conquest and as such, the most expensive)

congrats to everyone who got accepted!

hey cabrooks-let me know when you can see your STARS. it told me that my third-semester language satisfied my requirement, but they are not calculating my fourth semester language as a major prereq and i’m interested in seeing if they will do the same for all language/IR majors.

I sent my commitment deposit yesterday, how long does it take for them to process? How long did it take for you guys to receive a confirmation email? I’m hoping there are spots left for the July 1st orientation.

Oh yeah, are you guys really bringing a backpack to orientation? lol. I am looking at the ‘what to bring’ for orientation on the website.

ksbr27- Will do! I have yet to have that updated.

usc24- Everyone has been saying it takes the full 7 days before you can register for orientation. I too am hoping to sign up for the July 1st orientation. :-]

cabrooks- Thanks, this is taking way too long :(

usc24- I sent mine on a Sunday and got the email allowing me to register like 8 or 9 days later. I was about to call to see if they got my payment but I signed up for orientation right away and payed my housing & required meal plan right away as well. Sooo much pre-orientation homework, but I was finished it in two or three days. :)

I know it really is. This whole process is jerking with my emotions. I was super happy about sending off my commitment deposit, then super stressed over trying to find housing, and now i’m impatient about the 7 day rule. lol

Thank goodness it will all be over soon.

Does this thread have a facebook group?

WOT - What is the pre-orientation homework?

It’s a series of different things USC wants you to familiarize yourself and standard forms to complete. It’s everywhere from a tutorial on how to register to placement tests to USC historical facts and traditions. :)
