USC Admitted Transfer Students 2009

I got my credit transfer report… Only 36 units transferred…out of 60.
USC stop dissapointing me!!! :frowning: :frowning: :frowning: :(

^ oh man, no bueno… BUT you can petition it!

^yes, make sure you have your syllabi ready, chaly!

omg chaly, thats messed up =/ really sucks…
honestly, im guessing youre leaning toward unc atm… considering everything theyre giving you…

So how was orientation for all those who attended today, any heads up, suggestions to take? Starbucks to stay awake, iPod???

Orientation was kind of cool, actually. There were a couple of presentations that were a little dull, but they were necessary. It’s one of those things where they give an overview of all of the services available at SC. They broke us up into different groups for different presentations. They also gave us school and major-specific overviews. I’m doing Film Production, so our presentation was really cool. They showed us a short film that was produced by a Production 1 student, and then they showed us a documentary covering the first 75 years of the film program at SC. Some of the people from the other schools said that their presentations sucked, though.

During lunch, a few members of the marching band came out and played Fanfare, Tribute to Troy, Conquest, Tusk, and Fight On. We all did the SC hand sign thingy. That was probably the highlight of the day for the parents that attended.

After lunch, we broke off by major and went over GE, lower division, upper division, and elective requirements for our degrees. We then registered for classes. After that, we went for pizza and called it a day.

Try to fill up at breakfast, because you won’t be eating again for six hours. Try to get some sleep the night before, too. It’s kind of a long day, but like anything else, you get out of it what you put into it.

I’m super excited for my orientation

Housing stuff–

During orientation, they said that all of the housing assignments have been made (I’m not sure if that means everyone has already been notified).

For those of you still looking, there were TONS of people there from privately owned housing right off campus. They had fliers for their different options and floor plans. Most of the places were around $1,200 for a one bedroom, or $1,800 for a two bedroom. Easily affordable when split between two or four people, respectively. The only hard part would be finding roommates, but I believe SC housing has a roommate finder service.

thanks for all the info airborne :]

Whew! Airborne, that’s interesting to know about housing. I guess my son got in right under the gun. He was assigned university housing on Monday.

haha yott i added ya too today

as for chaly, they transfered 12 of my units out of 62 so far…i’m assuming they are NOT done. or else i’m going to be a very very unhappy camper lol

so i’m guessing from the overall opinions that orientation was a bit boring?

gxgal7, when did your son apply for housing? :frowning: can’t believe i missed it

GetYourOwnBox, he applied May 30th. Do you mean by “missed it” that you didn’t apply or that you did apply and haven’t been assigned?

applied and haven’t been assigned. i applied june 2nd after i submitted my deposit.

Has abyone been getting emails in their usc email? I got a lot of emails at the beginning of activation, but haven’t since. Also, has anyone received the email for football tix yet?

I got one for the football tickets July 1st

i didn’t get any email about football tickets…

That’s so weird, especially since I’m a Spring admit too.
